Delivery Insights and Performance Lead

Delivery Insights and Performance Lead

Req ID:  119827
Department:  Tech Digital Channels
Division:  Technology
Location:  Melbourne

About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

The Delivery Insights & Performance Lead is a critical technology leadership role responsible for establishing and maintaining the delivery performance view across Digital Channels Technology.

You will create a single source of truth for delivery capacity, utilisation, throughput, and flow across squads, platforms, and value streams. By synthesising delivery data and performance insights, you'll enable technology leaders to make informed decisions, proactively manage risks, and improve delivery outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on turning complex delivery data into meaningful insights, influencing senior stakeholders through evidence-based recommendations, and driving continuous improvement across large-scale technology environments.

Importantly, this is not a delivery execution role. You will not manage people, approve funding, or own scope decisions. Instead, you will own delivery performance visibility, reporting, measurement standards, and performance intervention through delivery leadership.

Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.

Role Type: Permanent
Role Location: Melbourne or Brisbane
Work Hours: Full-Time

What will your day look like?

As a Delivery Insights and Performance Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Establish and maintain an authoritative view of delivery performance across Digital Channels Technology.
  • Develop meaningful insights across capacity, utilisation, throughput, predictability, and flow.
  • Translate data into actionable recommendations for technology leadership.
  • Provide the definitive delivery performance narrative across squads, platforms, and value streams.
  • Establish and maintain a baseline view of Digital Channels delivery capacity.
  • Maintain rolling portfolio capacity views across investment and BAU activities.
  • Identify supply and demand mismatches, workforce constraints, skill gaps, and delivery dependencies.
  • Support evidence-based prioritisation and risk mitigation decisions.
  • Define, standardise, and embed delivery performance measures across the technology organisation.
  • Drive alignment on capacity, utilisation, throughput, and flow metrics.
  • Ensure delivery data quality and consistency across delivery tooling and reporting.
  • Monitor adherence to delivery standards and drive corrective intervention where required.
  • Establish repeatable measures of squad performance, predictability, sustainability, and health.
  • Identify systemic delivery challenges and performance risks.
  • Surface delivery bottlenecks and disruptions to flow.
  • Partner with Initiative Leads and Agile Delivery Leads to drive performance improvement actions.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Experience in delivery performance, portfolio governance, PMO, delivery excellence, agile delivery, technology transformation, or related disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Lean, and flow-based delivery measurement frameworks.
  • Experience in capacity planning, utilisation reporting, workforce analytics, or portfolio performance management.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate complex information into concise executive-level insights.
  • Experience establishing metrics, reporting frameworks, and governance standards within large technology organisations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, particularly at senior leadership levels.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
