About the Role
As a Data Modeller, you’ll play a key role in helping the Enterprise Climate Program to meet our Mandatory Climate Disclosure obligations. Reporting into the Data and Analytics workstream, this role is responsible for creating and managing data models that define the structure, relationships, and constraints of data used in systems and applications, helping to ensure that data is organized, accessible, and meaningful.
You will engage with key stakeholders from Technology and Business to ensure the alignment of Data Models with our ESG Data Platform and Transformation of Infrastructure. You are also expected to be effective at translating Change requirements documented as User Stories and have a mindset to deliver business value while anticipating any impacts as a consequence of the changes.

What will your day look like?
As a Data Modeller, your key accountabilities will include:
- Assisting with conceptual, logical and physical data modelling for all storage layers of ESG Data Platform.
- Assurance of enterprise data governance and architecture standards adoption in the data design.
- Implementation of technical feasibility and performance optimisation techniques for data models.
- Defining operational and governance metadata for data models, in association with ESG data architect & solution designer.
- Assistance in defining and implement data model life cycle process, starting from draft to approval
- Management and maintenance of data models
- engagement with Enterprise Data Management Office to align ESG data model to the Enterprise Conceptual Data Model (iCDM)
- Alignment of data models with ESG data architecture and solution design
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Demonstrated Data Modelling expertise, Project Management, planning and problem-solving skills across a broad range of projects
- Strong data focus, with the ability to think along value streams and supporting change or delivery. Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and work under pressure to achieve deadlines. Proven ability to support delivery squad demands for support for data modelling and reviews.
- Data Modelling Techniques: Proficient in Data Vault 2.0, 3rd Normal Form, Star Schema, and Snowflake Schema. Should be highly experienced in designing conceptual, logical and physical data models with supporting governance metadata, change management, documentation and cardinality.
- Geo-Spatial Data Modelling: Should have in-depth previous experience with geo-spatial data modelling, storage, management, and processing.
- Database Management: Experience with data modelling techniques across SQL and NoSQL databases, including indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
- Data Governance: In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks and practices, including data quality, metadata management, and data stewardship.
- ETL Processes: Skilled in understanding technical challenges of ETL/ELT processes for data integration and transformation and design data models to mitigate such challenges.
- Tools and Technologies: Proficiency with data modelling tools (e.g., EA Sparx, ERwin, PowerDesigner) and database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, Big Query).
