As the Conduct Risk Lead within Commercial’s Non-Financial Risk team, this role is responsible for providing 1st line operational risk management support, ensuring robust conduct risk practices are uplifted. You will work closely with the Assurance and Well Managed Lead, Non-Financial Risk Lead and key stakeholders across the enterprise to lead the delivery of critical Conduct Risk uplift work. You will lead a team, that develop solutions and offer valuable insights and recommendations to the business.

What will your day look like?
As the Conduct Risk Lead, you are accountable for:

Leading a team of Conduct Risk Assurance and Well Managed Associates and Data Analysts

First line assurance and well managed activities relating to Conduct Risk including end to end mapping of obligations, establishment and monitoring of controls, KRIs and treatment plans and operational risk assessments.

Liaising directly with key stakeholders (e.g. 2nd line risk, internal audit, control and risk owners, change initiators) to improve the quality and adequacy of risks, controls, treatment, audit items and change initiatives to ensure all regulatory and compliance obligations are met with due consideration to the banker and customer experience

The development and monitoring of a Conduct Risk dashboard that is sustainable in design and operation

Using data led insights, identify trends and provide recommendations to financial and non-financial risks across the end-to-end life cycle of conduct risk.

Driving improvement in team risk capability, expertise and risk culture

Maturing the risk management ecosystem including proactively identifying, responding and managing internal and external influences at divisional and segment level.

Driving and supporting effective governance and oversight of conduct risk at business unit and divisional committees / forums.
What will you bring?

People Management: Managing the end-to-end employee lifecycle: from attraction, recruitment and on boarding to performance, development, remuneration, workforce planning, career planning and managing exits with respect.

Risk and issue management: The ability to identify and assess risks, determine the corrective action required to control or eliminate the risks and effectively manage issues that arise.

Controls design: The ability to specify and designing controls (e.g., a process, device or practice) to prevent, detect or remediate identified risks.

Planning and Prioritisation: Planning and prioritising what needs to be done (including people, process and technology implications) in order to deliver upon customer/user needs and strategic priorities. This includes identifying, planning for, tracking and resolving dependencies.

Incident management: The processing and coordination of appropriate and timely responses to incident reports, including channelling requests for help to appropriate functions for resolution, monitoring resolution activity, and keeping clients appraised of progress towards service restoration.

Influencing: The ability to gain the commitment of others through a range of techniques

Governance: Providing governance expertise to support the effective operation of a team, function, project or entity. This includes developing and implementing governance frameworks (including rules, relationships, systems and processes) to assist with the proper exercise and control of authority.
