About the Role

This role is perfect for someone who excels at data wrangling and transforming data into actionable insights. They also enjoy turning complex data into clear, compelling visual stories that drive informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in writing and optimizing complex Teradata SQL queries, including stored procedures, for data extraction and analysis, Python scripting for data manipulation and automation, and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.

What will your day look like?
This role is responsible for providing 1st line operational risk management support to businesses within the Australia Commercial Division. In this role you will be required to:

Extract data, produce reporting and formulate insights to assist with reporting to key stakeholders on either an ad hoc basis or for relevant risk forums and/or committees at portfolio or business unit level.

Report on relevant data and ensure commitments are met in line with conduct risk project roadmap, milestones and objectives.

Ensure all reporting accurately reflects necessary data points and key performance indicators.

Support monitoring of conduct risk initiatives delivered as required

Provide support to ensure current and future programs of work operate within agreed frameworks.

Engage with relevant Assurance teams, Operational Risk and Compliance teams and Audit in relation conduct risk data.

Actively support and drive the maturity of Conduct Risk within Commercial Division by providing data insights and themes.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Data Analysis: Using your advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including VBA programming and DAX, you will translate data into meaningful insights to inform business decisions and deliver customer solutions

Data wrangling: Proficiency in SQL, with hands-on experience using Teradata, including writing storing procedure and complex queries. The ability to extract, clean, transform and unify complex and disparate raw data sets to enable analysis. Experience with Python scripting for data manipulation and automation.

Data Visualisation: The ability to take a structured approach to extracting valuable insights and opportunities from data via appropriate sources (documents, tools and dashboards) and combining them to create a holistic view. Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Tableau or QlikView.

Data driven decision making: Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources using multiple sources of data and information to help contextualise and determine priorities

Problem Solving: The ability to identify and critically evaluate problems, and/or interconnections and patterns across a broader system for the purpose of finding and implementing a solution

Communication: The ability to convey and comprehend information effectively in both spoken and written formats. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Planning and Prioritisation: Planning and prioritising what needs to be done (including people, process and technology implications) in order to deliver upon customer/user needs and strategic priorities. This includes identifying, planning for, tracking and resolving dependencies

Risk and issue management: The ability to identify and assess risks, determine the corrective action required to control or eliminate the risks and effectively manage issues that arise.
