About the Role

 

As an Analyst Chapter Lead in our Identity & Access Management (IAM) Technology Area, you’ll play a key role in building world class capability for the Chapter area, developing squad members and improving the way we work at ANZ and, as a Squad member, contributing to the accomplishment of the Squad’s mission.


The role is responsible for leading a chapter of analysts by guiding them on "how" to work, their professional development as well as being responsible for developing mastery of their capabilities. The Chapter Lead role will also be involved in contributing to initiatives and deliverables within a squad or project as well as various ad-hoc activities to support the IAM Tribe. The IAM Tech Area safeguards our bank’s digital assets by providing secure, seamless access for our employees and partners. Through intelligent authentication systems, streamlined user management, and robust security protocols, we ensure that the right people have the right access at the right time, enabling secure operations and a trusted banking environment.

What will your day look like?

 

Accountabilities and responsibilities as a People Leader:

  • Be responsible for leading a chapter of technical experts by guiding them on "how" to work and their professional development. You will also be responsible for developing mastery of capabilities within the chapter.
  • Oversee the career development and performance management of chapter members, including regular check-ins, approving leave, and leading recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding activities.
  • Take a holistic interest in supporting chapter members and be accountable for building world-class capabilities (including both technical expertise and soft skills).
  • Lead and mentor a team of analysts, ensuring consistent business analysis practices, high-quality documentation, and clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Manage dependencies across multiple initiatives, coordinating between teams to ensure smooth delivery and avoid bottlenecks.

 
Accountabilities and responsibilities as Contributor to the squad: 

  • Partner with the Product Owner to validate requirements, prioritise tasks, and ensure alignment with business value.
  • Collaborate with the squad to refine user stories, define clear acceptance criteria, and ensure they are detailed and ready for development.
  • Lead agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement meetings, ensuring efficient and focused sessions.
  • Foster collaboration between team members (Product Owner, engineers, architects) to translate business requirements into technology solutions that meet strategic objectives.
  • Remove impediments to the team's progress, protect the team from distractions, and support performance tracking to improve outcomes.

What will you bring?

 

  • Deep expertise in business analysis, backlog management, and agile methodologies, combined with broad capabilities and a proven ability to innovate and adapt to the latest developments.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with experience guiding analysts in business analysis activities, strategic planning, and quality assurance.
  • Proven ability to manage dependencies across multiple initiatives, coordinating teams and ensuring smooth execution.
  • Expertise in agile practices with hands-on experience as a Scrum Master, facilitating ceremonies, removing impediments, and coaching teams to high performance.
  • Proven experience working as a business/system analyst, translating business requirements into meaningful solutions by understanding needs, feasibility, and impact.
  • Strong elicitation, requirements gathering, and impact assessment skills—focused on both business processes and technology.
  • Ability to lead and complete desirability, feasibility, and viability assessments for new features with a systems thinking approach.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, system-inventive thinking, and the ability to map customer journeys for new and existing features.
