About the Role
To provide paralegal support as part of the ANZ Institutional Legal Group Services team (ilgS). ilgS is part of the Institutional Legal Group and provides support on higher volume lower risk matters for business units within ANZ, including the Institutional business globally.
Role Location: Melbourne or Sydney
Role Type: Permanent
Schedule: Full - time (40 hours/week)
What will your day look like?
As a Career Paralegal, Corporate Banking & ilgS, you will provide paralegal support on various work types. This includes:
- Reviewing provisions in standard loan documents and credit support documents.
- Drafting, reviewing and preparing routine legal and other documents to facilitate the provision of banking and financial services (eg Non-Disclosure Agreements, support letters and powers of attorney) with precision and attention to detail.
- Drafting, reviewing and preparing documents which are relevant to customer accounts, including consent letters and other notices.
This is a hands-on, autonomous role in a close-knit and commercially focused team. In this role, you will work closely with lawyers and business and other stakeholders, demonstrating a high degree of autonomy and professionalism while ensuring superior client service and efficient matter management. You will contribute positively to the timely and efficient delivery of products and services to customers and help to achieve business and customer objectives.
What will you bring?
Some paralegal or legal training or experience would be ideal, although not essential. In addition, the following are desired skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to liaise and collaborate effectively with lawyers and business and other stakeholders.
- An ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment regarding risks and mitigants associated with the various work types.
- Team-focused and customer-focused with a willingness to learn and go the extra mile.
- Demonstrated capacity to work under pressure in an accurate, calm and timely manner with the ability to reprioritise work to meet changing demands.
- Common sense and a positive attitude.
