About the Role

Reporting to the Group Head of Regulatory Relations, the Senior Manager, Regulatory Governance will oversee and ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to tracking and reporting regulatory engagement and issues across ANZ Group.

 

The role oversees ensuring all regulatory interactions and issues across the enterprise are consistently and systemically recorded, escalated and reported to governance committees, executive and board are supported to understand the overall status of regulatory relationships.

What will your day look like?

As a Business SME, Regulatory Governance, you are accountable for:

 

Leadership

  • Define and support operationalising a consistent operating model for regulatory engagement.
  • Build, lead, and develop a small high-performing team, empowering others to deliver exceptional results.
  • Champion a culture of integrity, collaboration, and proactive risk management throughout the organisation

 

Regulatory Engagement Oversight

 

  • Supporting development of group-wide regulatory engagement strategy and regulatory management lifecycle.
  • Championing, governing and enhancing group-wide approach to regulatory relationship management.

 

Reporting & Escalation

  • Oversee development and delivery of reporting metrics for regulatory relationship risk.
  • Ensure material regulatory issues are identified and escalated promptly and accurately.
  • Oversee QA process to ensure accurate recording of regulatory interactions and issues.

Remediation & Follow-up

  • Track and report on new regulatory issues, progress and closure to group committees.
  • Coordinate remediation actions for policy breaches with business units and countries.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build effective relationships with division and function regulatory engagement leads to embed policy.
  • Oversee development and delivery of executive-level regulatory engagement training and briefing

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Ability to lead and develop people in a changing environment. 
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy, process and system development.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory expectations in international environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and briefings.
  • Proactive approach – make things happen, continuous improvement mindset, work well across organisational boundaries.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including ability to work collaboratively across multiple business units and functions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including ability to solve complex problems that may involve multiple dependencies and require considering needs of various stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills, analytical skills, including ability to oversee and analyse large sets of data to draw insights and improve management and oversight of relevant risks across the organisation
  • Agility and excellent organisational skills, including ability to work in a fast-paced environment, successfully respond and adapt to evolving processes.
