About the Role
- Designing and implementing an appropriate target operating model for policy governance (covering Group and divisional policy documents), including ensuring divisional and functional policies map to respective Group policies
- Maintaining and enhancing a comprehensive policy inventory, tools (including future-proof technology as appropriate), resources and reporting to build strong awareness and consistent understanding and application of ANZ’s policy governance framework, including determining appropriate policy hierarchy and naming conventions
- Thought leadership and influencing to improve the consistent drafting and implementation of policy documents – including quality, people’s ability to find, understand and adhere to them
- Continuous monitoring of ANZ’s policy framework
- Managing a small team whose services are actively sought and valued by internal stakeholders

What will your day look like?
As a Business SME, Policy Governance, you are accountable for:
- Overseeing the implementation and effectiveness of ANZ’s policy governance framework
- Partnering with key stakeholders to provide advice and guidance to influence efficient policy drafting, governance activities, priorities and outcomes
- Reducing policy complexity and driving efficient purpose and values led principles-based policy in easy to understand language and terms
- Leading the preparation of policy governance reporting to facilitate meaningful decision making by key leaders and policy owners
- Managing the workload, deliverables and development of a small team
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Commitment to drive change
- Self-driven leadership and team building skills
- Ability to establish, build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influence/negotiate change with senior stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
- Strong project management skills, ability to manage priorities and conflicting issues in a professional/risk based manner
- Communication skills (written and verbal) to engage and influence
- Preferably policy governance experience in/from the Financial Services industry or from other large/international organisation
- Experience working in or with risk and assurance
- Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Resilience and a fast-paced approach with a strong growth mindset
- Experience in direct management of staff and experience in building policy capability within a team, including developing and coaching individuals and managing performance
