About the Role


The Business Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Enterprise Risk is responsible for providing expert guidance and support across enterprise risk governance activities, including Risk Management Framework and Strategy, Policy Governance and Risk Committees. The role acts as a key liaison between business units and risk governance functions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory expectations

What will your day look like?


As Business SME, Enterprise Risk  you are accountable for: 

 

  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the enterprise risk governance framework, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and decision-making structures. 
  • Lead or support the development, review, and maintenance of risk-related policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring they are current, fit-for-purpose, and aligned with regulatory requirements. 
  • Act as a key point of contact for business units on governance and policy matters, ensuring consistent interpretation and application of risk policies and standards. 
  • Support the preparation of governance-related reporting and insights for senior leadership and board-level committees, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and timeliness. 
  • Ensure governance activities and policies are aligned with applicable regulatory requirements and industry best practices. 
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance governance processes, committee effectiveness, and policy clarity.

 

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk governance, policy frameworks, and committee operations. 
  • Experience in drafting and maintaining risk policies and standards. 
  • Proven ability to manage governance processes and committee coordination. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation. 
  • Excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and meet critical deadlines
  • Previous experience managing or reporting to governance bodies 
  • Risk Management experience
