About the Role

 

This role is responsible for engaging with other members of the Organisation Design & Improvement (OD&I) Process and Optimisation team, the OD&I LT, OD&I practitioners, and other key T&C teams to identify, assess, design  and oversee end-to-end improvements across OD&I services, broader workforce transformation processes, ways of working (e.g. responsibilities, hand-offs etc.), and governance. The role ensures that OD&I practitioners (and broader T&C teams) can deliver end-to-end workforce transformation activities efficiently, at scale, with strong controls, and with an excellent experience for business areas, stakeholders, and practitioners.

What will your day look like?

As a Senior Lead – Process and Optimisation, you are accountable for:

 

  • Mapping and analysing current state processes and ways of working (what is done, who does it, how it is done, how it is governed etc.) across the end-to-end workforce transformation delivery value chain (from scoping through to implementation)
  • Working with a broad array of stakeholders (OD&I LT, OD&I practitioners, OD&I Process and Optimisation team, T&C Process Re-Engineering teams etc.) to identify pain points, inefficiencies, hand-off issues and risks. Opportunities identified will span OD&I owned activity and any broader T&C activity with interdependencies with OD&I.  
  • Developing and managing the backlog of opportunities to address. This includes assessing and prioritising opportunity areas based on benefits, scoping and planning requirements for design and implementation, managing and mobilising cross-functional stakeholders to deliver initiatives, and continuously reporting on progress and blockers to leadership.  
  • Designing and implementing future state initiatives  that improve speed, quality, compliance and experience. Initiatives should include improvements across what OD&I delivers (value proposition, service design etc.), how work is delivered (processes, responsibilities, internal and external hand-offs etc.), how delivery is governed (risk management, controls, governance etc.) and supporting systems and tools (data, tooling, automation etc.)
  • Identifying and designing pragmatic opportunities for process redesign and automation, in collaboration with broader Data and Process Re-Engineering roles
  • Working as part of the OD&I Process and Optimisation team to improve the consistency and utilisation of data throughout end-to-end workforce transformation delivery
  • Ensuring future state initiatives align with Enterprise priorities, service standards and policy expectations
  • Work closely with OD&I and LT delivery practitioners to understand needs, test solutions and embed changes
  • Partner with broader T&C teams as needed to drive alignment and efficiency
  • Support rollout of new processes and automation tools, including training and walkthroughs
  • Build team capability across new ways of working and the end-to-end workforce transformation delivery value chain

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Strong capability and experience in leading the identification and design of continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. simplification, streamlining, automation, risk management etc.) across transformation delivery activities. Includes process and workflow improvement, ways of working (team / role responsibilities, hand-offs etc.), governance and controls design and systems / tooling / data improvements
  • Strong ability to translate complex problem statements or issues, often involving multiple teams, activities and / or systems, into actionable work packages
  • Strong capability in implementing initiatives, including defining change approaches / strategies, managing initiative rollouts and communications, and driving capability uplift

 

Project Leadership and Stakeholder Management:

  • Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders (functional leadership teams and executives), both within OD&I and across other functional teams, to plan, assess and scope improvement initiatives; ability to drive buy-in across multiple teams often with differing requirements
  • Strong project management skillset, including planning and management of multiple initiatives and backlog items to ensure quality delivery
  • Proven ability to lead and / or work as part of a cross-functional team in the development and design of improvement initiatives

 

Domain Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of end-to-end workforce transformation delivery processes and activities (especially organisation design, restructuring / implementation, related data management activities)
    Knowledge of HR processes approvals, controls and governance 

 

Other:

  • Able to independently shape and manage work and demand with minimal input / oversight from leadership roles; this role is expected to independently lead and manage initiatives in collaboration with other cross-functional resource 


‘Good to have’ knowledge, skills and experiences

  • Certifications in process re-engineering and automation will be highly regarded
  • Experience working across both organisation design and restructuring / implementation will be highly regarded
  • Experience working in a banking context
