About the Role

Your experience in operational risk, compliance management and contemporary NFR practices across the financial services industry will be leveraged and further developed. You will bring a strong understanding of evolving regulatory expectations and industry better practice in risk management (including CPS230, CPS220 and broader non financial risk frameworks), and contribute to the Bank’s strategy through targeted, high impact audit activity.

 

As an Audit Manager, you execute audits that are central to the annual audit plan and provide independent challenge and insight on the effectiveness of governance, risk management and the control environment. You will engage constructively with senior stakeholders to drive sustainable, customer centric outcomes that meet the expectations of the Board and regulators.

 

Areas of focus include, but are not limited to:

  • Non Financial Risk and Compliance Management
  • Enterprise and Operational Risk Management Frameworks
  • Regulatory change and uplift programs

Role Type: 12-month Fixed Term Contract, Full-time

What will your day look like?

As the Audit Manager, you will be accountable for:

  • Supporting customers and stakeholders by applying strong Non-Financial Risk (NFR) expertise to drive sustainable improvements in governance, risk management, and internal control effectiveness.
  • Contributing to a collaborative and adaptive Internal Audit environment that prioritizes capability uplift, continuous professional development, and inclusive leadership.
  • Leveraging deep Risk and Internal Audit experience—including contemporary NFR practices, compliance management, and risk management frameworks—to deliver high quality audit outcomes.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the global Internal Audit function, using strong stakeholder management and influencing skills to promote alignment and shared outcomes.
  • Playing a key role in building team capability by uplifting audit quality, embedding contemporary NFR methodologies, and fostering continuous improvement across the function.

What will you bring?

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following attributes and experience:

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Strong expertise in Non Financial Risk Management, contemporary NFR practices (including operational resilience, risk appetite, issue management and risk culture) and Risk Management Frameworks.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven track record in building and maintaining effective relationships with senior leaders. Demonstrated negotiation, influencing and conflict management skills.
  • Technical Capability: Well developed Internal Audit skills, including executing complex audits across multiple stakeholders and geographies, often in ambiguous or evolving regulatory environments. 
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distil complex risk issues into clear, impactful audit messages and recommendations.
  • Resilience: Demonstrated experience navigating resistance to change and delivering outcomes in complex, high pressure environments.
  • Culture & Mindset: Growth oriented, curious and proactive in understanding the business, regulatory landscape and emerging NFR trends.
  • Accountability: Self starter with strong ownership mindset who follows through on commitments and delivers results.
  • Data & Analytics Awareness: Understanding of data driven audit techniques and analytical approaches to improve audit efficiency and insight.
  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualified, ideally with professional qualifications (CPA/CA) and/or relevant postgraduate study in accounting, audit, operational risk or compliance.
