About the Role
The Audit Manager – Group Operations roles support delivery of independent third-line assurance over the effectiveness of governance, risk management and controls across Retail & Business & Private Bank Operations and Third Party risk activities.
Reporting to the Audit Director – Retail & Business & Private Bank Operations & Third Party, these roles contribute to operations audits and assurance activity, including Critical Operations coverage where relevant, and targeted assurance activity relating to Third Party risk and Physical Security. The roles contribute evidence-based assessments of control effectiveness, operational resilience and service reliability.
The roles work closely with audit teams and business stakeholders to support high-quality audit delivery in accordance with Internal Audit methodology and Global Internal Audit Standards, while contributing to effective risk assessment, audit execution and a strong speak-up culture.

What will your day look like?
As Audit Manager – Group Operations, core accountabilities include:
- Contributed to audit engagements across Retail, Business & Private Bank Operations, and Third Party risk, including Critical Operations (CPS 230) and Physical Security coverage.
- Delivered audit activities within defined timelines and scope, proactively managing workload and escalating risks, dependencies, or delays.
- Supported preparation of audit findings, recommendations, and deliverables with clear, evidence-based insights.
- Assisted in risk identification and audit scoping using knowledge of operational processes, risks, and customer outcomes to guide testing.
- Applied Internal Audit methodology and Global Internal Audit Standards to ensure high-quality, well-documented, and defensible audit work.
- Utilised Non-Financial Risk and relevant frameworks to support sound risk assessment and audit judgement.
- Conducted issue follow-up, validation, and documentation activities, ensuring outputs were accurate, complete, and review-ready.
- Leveraged data analytics, AI, and audit tools to enhance testing quality, analysis, and insight generation.Engaged effectively with stakeholders and audit teams, escalating concerns appropriately and contributing to value-driven audit observations.
- Promoted a strong risk and speak-up culture, demonstrating accountability, professionalism, and openness to feedback.
- Supported Internal Audit strategic priorities and contributed to continuous improvement in audit quality, methodology, and execution practices.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Applied understanding of internal audit methodology, including execution, evidence standards, and documentation within assurance environments.
- Demonstrated business acumen across Retail and Business & Private Bank Operations, understanding key processes, controls, and operational dependencies.
- Identified and assessed conduct, regulatory, fraud, and transaction risks, escalating complex issues where required.
- Supported audit delivery in Third Party risk areas with working knowledge of controls and risk frameworks.
- Contributed to audits, assurance activities, and risk reviews, delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely outputs.
- Engaged professionally with stakeholders, clearly communicating audit issues and collaborating effectively during delivery.
- Utilised data, analytics, and tools to support audit testing, analysis, and insight generation.
- Gained exposure to operational environments, remediation/thematic reviews, and transformation or change audits.
- Held relevant qualifications in audit, risk, or business disciplines, with certifications such as CPA, CA, CIA, or equivalent.
