About the Role
Join a newly established Audit Operations and Quality team dedicated to centralising governance, performance, and risk management across the function. This role offers the opportunity to shape foundational processes and drive operational excellence from the ground up.
As the Audit Director for Performance, Governance and Reporting, you will lead the Internal Audit function’s governance, performance management, and reporting functions.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, timely, and insightful reporting to key stakeholders including the Board, Executive Committee, regulators, and the Internal Audit Leadership Team (IALT). You will play a critical role in overseeing risk management practices, driving strategic alignment, and enhancing operational effectiveness across the Internal Audit function.

What will your day look like?
As the Audit Director for Performance, Governance and Reporting, you will be accountable for:
Governance
• Leading the development and implementation of governance frameworks and practices within Internal Audit.
• Coordinating and managing cyclical Internal Audit activities, such as internal audit planning cycle.
Risk and Compliance Management
• Overseeing risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
• Managing and monitoring Internal Audit’s FAR Accountability requirements, implementing and monitoring compliance with reasonable steps.
Performance Management
• Driving performance reporting across Internal Audit, including tracking of strategic initiatives, financial management, and resource utilisation.
• Ensuring alignment of performance metrics with organisational goals and audit objectives.
Reporting
• Leading the preparation and delivery of reports to the Board, Audit Committee, Executive Committee, and regulators.
• Supporting the IALT with internal performance and governance reporting, synthesising audit results, insights and trends, emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensuring that reporting is accurate, timely, and meets internal audit standards and stakeholder expectations.
Financial Planning, Budget Monitoring and Reporting
• Providing support in managing and monitoring resource allocation, tracking budget performance, and evaluating financial outcomes to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
• Extensive professional experience in risk management or internal/external audit, with a strong preference for background in audit methodology, governance and reporting, and quality assurance.
• Strong process excellence, continuous improvement capability and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with an ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
• In-depth knowledge of audit theory and best practices, including the Standards for Professional Practices of Internal Auditing.
