About the Role
As an Associate Director/Senior Manager in the Climate & Environment (C&E) Strategy Team, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation and integration of ANZ’s C&E Strategy and in supporting our mandatory climate disclosures as they relate to strategy. Your primary responsibilities will be to lead or co-lead multiple workstreams across the C&E Strategy key actions, and within the mandatory climate disclosures program to ensure compliance with ANZ’s compliance with the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (AASB S2) where it relates to strategy.
In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in helping to establish effective workstreams, governance, and monitoring to support and drive the delivery of the C&E Strategy action plans, and to deliver on our core objective to be a trusted partner for our customers, supporting them to adapt and become more resilient, to a changing environment and economy. In particular, we aim to be a leading bank in supporting an effective and orderly transition for our large business customers.
We are seeking an adaptive and driven individual with an understanding and passion for climate and environment, experienced in delivering results and effectively communicating across a diverse stakeholder base, all overlayed by a rapidly changing landscape.

Role Type: Permanent
Role Location: Melbourne is preferred, however candidates from Sydney (or other locations) will be considered based on suitability for the role.
Work Hours: Full-time, 40hrs/week
What will your day look like?
As an Associate Director/Senior Manager, C&E Strategy, your day will be dynamic and varied. You will:
- Support and drive the implementation and delivery of the C&E Strategy.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to coordinate and monitor progress.
- Lead strategy related workstreams under the Mandatory Climate Disclosures program.
- Develop and roll out communications plans.
- Provide strategic advice and support to stakeholders.
- Monitor climate and environment developments and their impact on ANZ.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
What will you bring?

- Strategic and commercial thinking, with a willingness to ‘roll your sleeves up’ to get the job done
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills, including the ability to understand and simplify complex matters.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships.
- Financial or corporate industry knowledge and experience.
- Project management skills.
- Adaptability and resilience.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer centric and collaborative team environment
- Experienced in working with senior executives
- Experience in climate and environment, ESG, strategy execution, change management or delivery is a plus.
