About the role

As the Associate Director of UX &UI, your role is to contribute to the achievement of the Wholesale Digital and Design business objectives by providing a mastery in the UX and UI design craft, design leadership and implementation of the strategic direction of Wholesale Design for all facets of Human Centered Design (HCD); to meet current and future Wholesale Digital Design strategies inclusive of Design Research, Strategy and Service design and User Experience needs for global Institutional customers; to build and influence the Design capability across ANZ’s Wholesale Digital team. 

 

Wholesale Digital is a global business that designs and delivers digital experiences for wholesale products and services used by a range of customer segments across our global Institutional network. As part of the customer partnership mission which is “to inspire customer advocacy by providing products and services that are well-designed, easily adopted, and managed with empathy. This role focus on the Design aspect of the Customer Partnerships mission. 

 

Drawing on best practice for digital experiences and ANZ brand guidelines, this role is responsible for leading and implementing world class design initiatives through HCD in line with ANZ’s global design community, technology, and business partners to coordinate simple and functional services for customers. The role will work with customers on innovative thinking, human-centred design requirements, customer of digital solutions' feedback items and work closely with technology and asset owners to ensure a smooth and timely implementation. 

 

Other responsibilities include but is not limited to:

UX and UI Design craft responsible for design projects to ensure they are delivered at high quality and on time for implementation.
Reporting to Design Director and ensuring strategic direction is implemented.
Scoping, building project plans and working with squads to ensure HCD methods are used to inform the design solution.
Creating lean and efficient design processes for the UX and UI function. 
Advocate and drive generative research and user testing to inform and validate designs.
Understanding how strategic and service design deliverables inform the experience. 
Lead and manage of a team of UX and UI designers across multiple simultaneous projects and support career development.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills (particularly technical teams).

Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time

What will you bring?

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: 

  • Extensive experience in UX and UI as core design specialisations (10+ years)
  • Evidence of 1-2 years (minimum) experience in a design management role (leading a team of designers and responsible for career development). 
  • Experience collaborating with technology through to implementation and delivery stages. 
  • Previous experience working in complex and large-scale and regulated organisations.
