About the Role

 

As an Associate Director in the Payments and Cash Management (PCM) Non-Financial Risk (NFR) team, you will provide trusted first-line risk advice and constructive challenge across Transaction Banking’s Payments and Cash Management products and services.

 

You will partner with Product, Sales, Implementation, Operations, Technology, Digital Delivery and Control Functions to ensure Non-Financial risks are identified, assessed, managed, monitored and reported within appetite. Your coverage will include domestic and cross-border payments, liquidity and cash management solutions, receivables and payables, virtual accounts, client connectivity and related transaction banking capabilities.

 

You will lead and deliver risk activities across the end-to-end product and platform lifecycle, including product and technology change, control assurance, incident and issue management, regulatory readiness and governance. You will translate complex risk matters into clear, practical and commercially balanced advice, escalating material concerns to senior leaders and relevant governance forums.

What will your day look like?


As a n Associate Director in the Payments and Cash Management, you will:

 

  • Provide independent, practical Non-Financial Risk advice across Payments and Cash Management products, client solutions, and strategic change initiatives.
  • Lead the identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of material Non-Financial Risks, including operational, compliance, technology, cyber, data, fraud, financial crime, third-party, conduct and resilience risks.
  • Provide constructive challenge on end-to-end product risk profiles, risk assessments, control effectiveness, operational readiness and risk-in-change, driving uplift in controls, risk indicators, assurance activities and management information.
  • Lead risk input for new products, product enhancements, and regulatory or strategic programs, ensuring effective risk consideration and operational readiness.
  • Prepare clear risk insights, governance papers and recommendations for senior stakeholders, risk committees and business forums.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across Product, Operations, Technology, Compliance, Legal, Financial Crime, Risk and Audit to support sustainable risk outcomes, strong first-line ownership and a regulator-ready control environment.
  • Contribute to the ongoing uplift of Transaction Banking risk frameworks, governance, controls and risk capability across the PCM portfolio.

 

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Significant experience in financial services with expertise in Non-Financial Risk, operational risk, controls, governance, compliance or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Transaction Banking, Payments and Cash Management products, operating models, client journeys and the end-to-end product lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience leading risk assessments, control reviews, issue and incident management, risk reporting and risk-in-change activities, including support for new products, platform changes and complex change initiatives.
  • Sound understanding of key Payments and Cash Management risks, including operational, compliance, technology, cyber, data, fraud, financial crime, third-party, conduct and resilience risks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify emerging risk themes, exercise sound judgement and translate complex information into practical recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to provide credible advice, constructive challenge and clear governance reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach with a commitment to strong risk culture, continuous improvement and sustainable customer and business outcomes
  • Tertiary or professional qualifications in risk, finance, commerce, law, business or a related discipline are desirable.
