About the Role
As the Associate Director - AML/CTF Institutional you will be responsible for effective risk management and uplift of the financial crime and fraud risk for the Insto division ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations, adherence to enterprise risk management standards and uplifting financial crime and fraud capabilities in the business. The role delivers financial crime and fraud risk management advice to support the value chains and promote a strong control environment.
This role leads top-down risk identification, assessments, regulatory or policy change implementation, escalates gaps where controls or frameworks are not effective, and partners with business teams to sustainably design and embed robust financial crime and fraud controls.

What will your day look like?
Your key accountabilities will include:
- Lead Financial Crime and Fraud risk management activities across business processes, products, and value chains.
- Translate complex financial crime requirements into practical business solutions that drive value and compliance.
- Apply and embed Group Risk policies, standards, and regulatory obligations within the division.
- Integrate financial crime requirements into customer-focused business processes and support the implementation of regulatory and policy changes.
- Conduct risk assessments, including control effectiveness reviews and residual risk analysis, to strengthen the risk environment.
- Partner with stakeholders to embed effective AML/CTF controls and enhance financial crime risk capability and culture through coaching and guidance.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Deep SME knowledge across AML/CTF obligations, risk management frameworks and regulatory obligations (strong SME across other L1 and L2 risk themes is required).
- Strong ability to apply risk expertise practically within business and operational contexts across multiple teams or processes; and strong capability in risk analytics, tooling and automation.
- Demonstrated ability to support the evolution and embedding of risk frameworks in financial services environments; and ability to translate data and insights into practical risk mitigation strategies, including uplift initiatives.
- Strong understanding of controls design, assurance and testing.
- Experience supporting advice to senior leaders and risk committees on operational and regulatory issues.
