About the Role

 

As an Assistant Manager  you will be partnering with a Senior Relationship Manager you will help look after a portfolio of diverse corporate agri-businesses across Victoria, Tasmania and southern New South Wales, whilst being based in Melbourne.

Your role includes applying credit and risk assessment alongside thoughtful deal structuring to enable and execute transactions in close partnership with Relationship Management, Product Partners (covering Trade Finance, Interest Rate & Foreign Exchange, Asset Finance and Payments & Cash Management), and Credit Risk. In this customer facing role you will also ensure the delivery of superior customer service proposition to protect and grow the customer franchise.

What will your day look like?

As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting the Senior Relationship Manager with the preparation of credit papers and financial monitoring reports, structuring deals, conducting financial analysis, and reviewing loan contract documentation.

• Help develop pitch to support the development of financial solutions for customers

• Proactively developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of customer business and financial needs.

• Providing appropriate solutions towards account maintenance and customer requests.

• Maintaining a well-managed portfolio compliant with all relevant policies and procedures. 

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

 

  • Excellent customer focus with genuine curiosity for understanding customer drivers and delivering solutions to meet their needs
  • Work well in a high paced and complex credit environment
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements and credit assessment skills (background of sound business lending)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and technologically savvy
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • A passion/interest in agriculture
