About the Role

 

 

the Application Fraud Senior Investigator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Application Fraud team by providing expert guidance, operational leadership, and fraud investigation expertise. A key focus of this position will be the investigation and management of Metadata-related fraud risks across both secured and unsecured lending applications, ensuring effective controls, risk mitigation strategies, and investigation outcomes are achieved. You will manage complex and high-risk investigations, working closely with Customer Protection teams and key stakeholders to identify emerging fraud trends, develop practical solutions, and strengthen fraud prevention measures. In addition, you will contribute to the team's broader case management workload and support the delivery of operational objectives.

What will your day look like?

 

 

As an Application Fraud Senior Officer, you are accountable for:

 

  • Investigate complex applications and proactively mitigate associated risks.
  • Demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management and customer engagement capabilities.
  • Think strategically and adapt quickly to fast-paced environments.
  • Review investigations involving Metadata applications identifying anomalies, manipulation indicators, organised fraud activity, and application inconsistencies
  • Review and assess fraud referrals, escalations, and intelligence from internal and external stakeholders to determine appropriate investigative actions.
  • Identify opportunities and provide recommendations to enhance detection strategies and minimize risk exposure.
  • Deliver the highest level of customer service, ensuring accurate and timely processing to exceed customer expectations and business requirements.
  • Possess strong knowledge of the application fraud landscape, with a solid analytical and problem-solving skill set applied in daily operations.
  • Identify skill gaps within the team and assist with training to bridge those gaps effectively.

  • End to end management of fraud events.
