About the Role
As part of the Enterprise Security Governance, Risk and Compliance team, this role is a leader with deep expertise in Information Security risk management who can solve complex problems and exercise a high degree of evaluative judgement and insight. This role will be supporting the ‘Information Security Risk Theme’ which is a centrally managed Enterprise framework on how Information Security as a risk is managed globally. The role will foster strong working relationships with colleagues across geographies and risk partners in both Group Technology and global Business Divisions, provide advice/guidance on information security risk and compliance management and perform detailed oversight of global information security risks, controls and environmental factors, including events and indicators, using data analysis and insight.

What will your day look like?
As a Chapter Lead, you will:
- Develop chapter members to build existing skills in governance, risk and compliance
- Courageously drive productivity and wellbeing in a culture of professionalism
- Create psychological safety for every chapter member
- Provide expert guidance on setting risk appetite including group Risk Appetite Statements and challenging risk appetite in line with a changing environment
- Provide expert, division-agnostic guidance on how to perform risk identification specific to Risk Theme, including risk-theme specific Risk Applicability Guidance
- Provide SME guidance and advise on risk assessment
- Provide oversight on emerging global risks
- Advise the business on interpretation and implementation of the Information Security Risk Theme requirements
- Define Risk Theme specific scenarios that may result in unexpected impact or disruption for the relevant business
- Conduct scenario analysis to stress test and examine impact of scenarios on business operations and effectiveness of processes and controls in place to mitigate or respond to scenarios
- Mentor, coach and advise junior employees about how to manage an Enterprise Security Risk Management program.
- Create career opportunities for chapter members to achieve personal growth, knowledge development and promotion
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to product owner and support Product Area Lead to achieve Technology Area objectives
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- 12+ years’ experience in Operational risk and/or Compliance or related disciplines
- Tertiary qualified, ideally with Professional and, or Post Graduate qualifications with strong technically relevant skills and understanding of technology risk.
- Deep understanding of information security industry standards, regulations and best practices (e.g. APRA CPS 234, ISO27001, NIST CSF, NIST SP800-53, PCI DSS etc).
- Partnership with Product Owner to lead home technology squad
- Resolve complex problems around people related issues
- Provide design leadership and role model strategic behaviours for technology development
- Participate proactively in the formation and evolution of the strategic governance, risk and compliance roadmap
- Interpersonal skills, especially empathy, compassion, leadership, sensitivity to a wide variety of ancestral traditions and cultures
- Be a leading figure in the actualisation, implementation and benefit realisation of the strategic governance, risk and compliance roadmap
- Ability to form and own opinions, including challenge on compliance arrangements where appropriate.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including excellent negotiating, influencing and conflict management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, ability to take a lead in workshops and drive meaningful outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Willingness to look at things differently, challenge the status quo and innovate.
- Proven analytical skills and evidence-based decision making.
- A ‘growth mindset’ and ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
- Experience with and understanding of security governance, risk, and compliance concepts in in the financial sector.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and experience with Agile tools such as Confluence and Jira.
