About the Australia Retail Division

 

Led by Bruce Rush, the Australia Retail division is instrumental in supporting our customers’ financial wellbeing.

 

Australia Retail supports ANZ’s largest market, with approximately 15,000 employees serving six million Retail customers across Australia. The division includes ANZ’s Retail banking propositions in Australia, including:

 

  • Customer Engagement: Marketing & Digital
  • Strategy & Transformation
  • Customer & Identity Services
  • Home Loans
  • Everyday Banking
  • Customer Migration
  • Customer Service Operations
  • Controls and Customer Outcomes

 

We also support ANZ’s digital platforms, including mobile and online banking solutions.

 

 

What to expect during your 8-week internship?

As a Retail intern, you will gain hands-on experience across one or more of our Retail portfolios. You will be supported with training, mentorship, and development opportunities to help you explore your potential and decide if ANZ is the right fit for your future.

At the end of the internship, you’ll have the opportunity for an early offer into our graduate program the following year.

 

The program may have you working across the following Retail portfolios:

 

Customer Engagement: Marketing & Digital Sales and Retail Distribution

The Customer Engagement team is the face of ANZ to our Retail customers. Together they develop and deliver integrated and personalised marketing, digital, sales and service experiences that our customers love. This set us up to grow revenue responsibly across all our digital and assisted customer channels, including through our nation-wide Branch network and Customer Contact Centres located both in Australia and Manilla.
 

Strategy & Transformation

The Strategy & Transformation team drive strategy and transformation for Australia Retail.

They work with the business as a trusted business partner, helping shape and execute on the strategy, driving business performance and protecting the integrity of Australia Retail. Working closely with the Group Executive, Australia Retail and the Retail leadership team in delivering a significant and complex transformation and preparing the business for the future.

 

Customer & Identity Services

The Customer & Identity Services (C&IS) team is establishing consistent and reusable services across Australia Retail for customer onboarding, identity and authentication, with potential for these services to be used across the enterprise. 

Home Loans
The Home Loans portfolio is responsible for providing home loan products to Australians and for managing ANZ’s supporting home loan systems. The portfolio is also responsible for Home Loan marketing and offers, the portfolio works closely with Pricing to set home loan interest rates, with risk to set home loan policy, and with distribution and customer service operations to manage the end-to-end home loan customer experience. 

 

Everyday Banking
The Everyday Banking portfolio serve around six million ANZ customers as they save, transact, pay for things, and protect their finances. All our Everyday Banking products and services play an equally important role in improving the financial wellbeing of our customers.
The Everyday Banking portfolio has teams located in Australia, Bengaluru and Manila.

 

Customer Migration
The Customer Migration portfolio consists of our Migration and Simplification teams, and the customer migration activities that are part of the proposed Suncorp Bank acquisition. The portfolio focuses on bridging the gap between today and tomorrow’s business, it is the centre of excellence for all migration activity, including simplification, across ANZ, ANZ Plus, Technology and proposed Suncorp Bank acquisition.

 

Customer Service Operations
Customer Service Operations (CSO) provides a range of specialist services including credit assessment, document fulfillment and property settlement to help our customers grow, buy, and own a home or business. 
The global team, located across Australia, Manila and Bengaluru also support customers by protecting them and the bank from scam and fraud attempts, aid when they are in arrears, experiencing financial hardship, encounter disputed transactions and help estate representatives settle the accounts of a deceased customer. Our team are also responsible for the relationship and contract management of over 100 suppliers who deliver business services for the bank globally.


Controls and Customer Outcomes
The Controls and Customer Outcomes portfolio drives ANZ’s fair treatment of customers through effective complaint resolution and remediation, as well as promoting education and product management uplift, customer and community advocacy and holds the risk transformation and controls office for the division.

Please ensure you meet the current eligibility requirements:

  • A citizen of, or hold permanent residency in, Australia or New Zealand; and
  • In your penultimate or 2nd last year of study of your bachelor or post-graduate degree.
