About the Role
The Retail Products Assurance Manager is responsible for providing independent first-line assurance across the Retail Products Portfolio (Credit Cards, Personal Loans, Deposits & Payments, Insurance & Super), helping ensure that customer, regulatory, operational and risk obligations are effectively managed.
The role will be critical in supporting the Retail Products NFR&C governance reporting process and partnering with key stakeholders such as Portfolio Governance and 2nd Line to support better customer outcomes, stronger risk management and sustainable control environments across Retail Products.
This role may also assist with the delivery of assurance activities across the PACT (People, Accountability, Customers and Trust) program, alongside input into Single Customer Front End (SCFE) transformation and Suncorp Integration Program, providing independent insight into the effectiveness of risk management, controls and customer outcomes within Retail Products.

What will your day look like?
- Produce meaningful action drive data insights into risk governance reporting through efficient targeted analysis, investigation and thematic assessments.
- Prepare/support inputs into high-quality assurance reports, management summaries and executive insights.
- Assess the design and effectiveness of controls and identify control gaps, emerging risks and improvement opportunities.
- Monitor management actions and ensure issues are remediated effectively.
- Provide independent challenge to the effectiveness of risk management practices and control environments.
- Ensure assurance activities are completed to agreed quality standards and within required timeframe.
- Support uplift activities to strengthen operational resilience, conduct, compliance and customer outcomes.
- Build trusted relationships with key business, Risk, Compliance and Assurance stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Retail Products Portfolio Governance activities as required (supporting review and challenge of well managed activities underpinned by policy and framework requirements).
What will you bring?
- Proficiency in risk forum reporting and navigation of risk systems such as ServiceNow (NFR Hub) and Tableau is highly preferred.
- Ability to use data to support assurance conclusions and recommendations.
- Experience with risk assessment risk profiling activities
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving capability.
- Experience working in a highly regulated, closely oversighted business and developing and managing excellent stakeholder relationships
- Ability to analyse complex information and identify key risks and themes.
- High level of comfort working with ambiguity and being able to make sense of complex issues and define a way forward
- Knowledge of APRA, ASIC, DDO, BCOP and consumer protection regulatory requirements.
- Strong ability to work independently and autonomously when required.
- Strong time management and ability to work within tight deadlines.
