About the Role
Join our Operational Risk and Group Services team as a Specialist/Senior Manager, Risk Culture, reporting directly to the Head of Risk Culture. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead initiatives that strengthen and embed a positive risk culture across the enterprise. Your work will help shape behaviours, influence decision-making, and ensure our business operates with confidence, compliance, and sustainability at its core.

Role Location: Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane
Work Hours: 40 hours per week
What will your day look like?
As a Specialist, Risk Culture, you will:
- Develop and Enhance Risk Culture Strategy & Framework. Partner with the Head of Risk Culture to execute ANZ’s risk culture strategy and continuously improve frameworks, methodologies, and assessment tools using industry best practices.
- Lead Risk Culture Assessments & Reporting. Coordinate measurement, monitoring, and reporting of risk culture maturity across business units, including analysis of survey outcomes and preparation of actionable insights.
- Provide Insights & Drive Uplift Initiatives. Identify gaps in risk culture, recommend solutions, and support action plans that strengthen behaviours and align with ANZ’s risk principles.
- Design and Embed Behavioural Change Programs. Apply behavioural science to create programs, tools, and training that drive sustainable cultural change, supported by clear and consistent communication across multiple channels.
- Engage and Influence Stakeholders. Build strong relationships across Risk, Businesses, Talent & Culture, and control functions, while supporting engagement with Internal Audit and regulators.
- Champion ANZ Values and Risk Practices. Demonstrate ANZ’s values in all interactions and maintain a strong understanding of risk culture and risk management practices to guide decision-making.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Proven ability to lead and influence stakeholders at all levels, delivering cultural and regulatory change in complex environments.
- Strong understanding of risk culture drivers, supported by significant experience (ideally 10+ years) in financial services, risk management, or behavioural science.
- Working knowledge of risk management systems, processes, reporting, and data analysis, with an analytical mindset to leverage data-driven insights.
- Ability to design training, tools, and communications that shape behaviours across multiple organisational levels, paired with excellent relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to learn and thrive in a dynamic, regulated environment while demonstrating resilience and curiosity.
- Tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Finance, Business, or related disciplines; or in Organisational Psychology, Behavioural Science, or similar fields.
