About the Role
As the Senior Credit Manager, you will support the Financial Institutional Group (FIG) with end-to-end management of the credit portfolio, which includes: conducting credit approvals within delegated credit authority including review and challenge of credit submissions; portfolio monitoring/analysis; and providing recommendations to senior credit approvers on credit related matters, in an efficient and timely manner.

What will your day look like?
As the Senior Credit Manager, you will:

Support global teams in managing credit portfolios within agreed Risk Frameworks
-
Work collaboratively with senior credit approvers with recommendations on credit related matters. This includes the review and challenge of credit submissions and conducting approvals within delegated authority, in an effective and timely manner.

Identify macroeconomic, regulatory, and industry trends

Proactively address emerging risks in the customer portfolio and share insights across the global team

Support portfolio monitoring/analysis activities

Improve the efficiency/ effectiveness of risk practices and processes

Provide training, support and coaching to assist raising the quality of credit proposals and portfolio management

Ensuring compliance with credit requirements and relevant policies

Consistently behave in line with ANZ values
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
-
10+ years’ experience within the Banking or Financial Services industry in a relevant credit decision role
-
Experience in credit assessment of financial institutions such as: banks, funds, finance companies, and insurance underwriters
-
Institutional banking experience in credit assessment and management of customer portfolios
-
Experience in the write up or review and challenge of credit submissions within Institutional banking
-
Credit decisioning experience in supporting senior credit approvers with recommendations on credit related matters, and completing approvals in line with delegated authority.

Experience in handling credit approval processes, analysing credit risk factors, and implementing risk mitigation strategies
-
Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams, preferably in the financial sector

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences

Knowledge of macro and industry economics

Knowledge of financial products commonly utilised by institutional customers

Knowledge of regulatory requirements for managing corporate credit exposures
-
Knowledge of governance and compliance frameworks for financial and non-financial risks
-
Experience in promoting an adaptive, agile risk culture and motivating organisational change

Experience in leveraging digital technology and data to increase efficiency and effectiveness

Experience in delivering to real time business demands, managing conflicting views, and managing competing priorities
-
Tertiary qualifications in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics or Law would be desirable
