About the Role

 

 
The Product Owner - Automation Centre is responsible for leading Automation initiatives within the Automation Centre. Working closely on the automation strategy, the role is responsible for prioritising and leading the build and delivery of world class automation solutions within the Automation Centre. You will be accountable for the planning and execution of the automation initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and budget, with an emphasis on speed to value. There will also be a key focus on co-ordinating internal resources and external stakeholders, business stakeholders, managing project risks and dependencies and ensuring alignment with the automation centre strategic objectives. You’ll get to deliver end to end service, and shape how Automation centre delivers on their commitment to providing great customer service through technology by working with Delivery Director, Process Discovery leads, Technical Leads, Engineers, Journey Experts and Release Leads across ANZ to align and build capability. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in technology project delivery, the ability to manage cross-functional collaboration, and a passion for supporting program initiatives aligned to the automation centre goals.

What will your day look like?

 
As a Product Owner, you will be expected to
 
  • Define project scope, objectives and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders

  • Help the team align, document and articulate the vision into business/technical requirements that our engineering teams can build, test and implement

  • Work closely with the Automation Delivery Director and Process Discovery Leads to align your roadmap is strategically aligned to the Automation Centre prioritised Book of Work.

  • Partner with external and internal stakeholders to ensure all squads are building the right product and course correct if needed

  • Balance the short-term productivity with the long-term health of the value stream, while addressing technical debt

  • Create, prioritise, sequence and maintain the Product Backlog

  • Assist with the elaboration of Epics, Themes and Features into user stories that are granular enough to be achieved in a single sprint

  • Convey the vision and goals at the beginning of every Release and Sprint and ensure the Squad remains aligned to these

  • Engage customers and stakeholders to ensure the Squad is building the right product and course corrects if needed

  • Develop comprehensive delivery plans, including milestones, dependencies, resource allocation and governance structure

  • Ensure alignment with organisational goals, OKRs and strategic priorities; and manage financials, including forecasting

  • Lead delivery teams and co-ordinate resources to execute deliverables accordingly to established plans

  • Monitor delivery progress and ensure tasks are completed on time and on budget

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Hands-on Product Owner experience with proven experience in a technology led environment, Techno-Functional Analyst
  • Proven experience in AI, Machine Learning project implementation is an advantage
  • Strong understanding and experience with Automation initiatives like Robotic Process Automation and Generative AI technologies
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable requirements
  • Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate, negotiate with and influence
  • Demonstrated experience working closely with senior and executive stakeholders
  • Effective communication channels to effectively resolve issues and remove barriers to success
  • Commercial acumen and experience working closely with external vendors
  • Proficiency in project management software e.g. Microsoft Project, Jira
  • Support the development and maintenance of project plans and schedules
  • Good understanding of ANZ Delivery Framework and Cloud policies
  • Knowledge of Automation Anywhere, Workflow, API Development and Integration, Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, Machine Learning, Cloud Engineering, Serverless Architecture
