About the Role
The Markets and Treasury Financial Control team (MTFC) is responsible for maintaining a robust control environment whilst producing financial reporting and analysis for the Markets and Treasury divisions. MTFC ensures the business is well managed from a financial and regulatory standpoint through the application of disciplined end-to-end trial balance control processes including but not limited to Balance Sheet (BS) & Profit/Loss (P&L) recognition and substantiation, through new trades review, P&L explain/attribution of all market and model inputs, price testing of trader marked inputs, defined valuation adjustments, analytical review and review of regulatory data, performance attribution, and FX/cash exposures management.
The Financial Control Specialist - Balance Sheet Trading is an intermediate level position who will be subject matter expert for Balance Sheet Trading team in Manila within Markets and Treasury Finance. You will be supporting the team to deliver timely and accurate financial information and ensuring that all statutory and regulatory reporting obligations across the Business Units are adequately met. The role will be working together with Finance, Business and non-Business stakeholders as identified to ensure financial integrity is maintained and no issues identified. Continuously improve end-to-end production and assess if further evolution and streamlining of processes are needed. The incumbent will be participating in strategic initiatives from a Markets and Treasury perspective and wider bank initiatives. The role also entails the following responsibilities but not limited to:
- Ensure timely delivery of quality and accurate reports through but not limited to review and approval of P&L reports, month end and other reporting processes performed by MTFC team.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies, legislation and regulations (Statutory and Regulatory)
- Consistently seek and identify process improvement or automation opportunities.
- Build strong and collaborative relationships with members of the MTFC team and stakeholders.
- Support timely remediation of any adverse audit findings

What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field of studies and be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) / Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) is a plus
- Solid working knowledge of financial control within a financial services environment.
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Advanced MS Excel skills or ability to write macros is an advantage.
