About the Role

The role is part of the Financial Control (FC) community of practice, with principal general accountabilities being:

 

  • Strong understanding of the financial control framework and able to close the books every month end.
  • Has ability to prepare Annual Financial Statements for audit
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements (local or group)
  • Implementation and monitoring of the Group’s accounting policies and internal control frameworks
  • Integrity of the numbers by delivering accurate, reliable and timely financial information
  • Can drive future of Finance simplification agenda, ensuring consistency with objectives and a focus on continuous improvement
  • Embedding a robust governance culture

 

In particular, this role is responsible for:

 

  • Daily Oversight: Review and oversee daily and monthly operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, control compliance, and appropriate issue identification and escalation.
  • Annual Financial Statement preparation:  To help prepare and review the Annual Financial statements including the corresponding schedule and notes to FS.   Manage the team and coordinate with onshore and external auditors in submission and completion.

 

  • Process Owner & SME: Act as the subject matter expert and owner of centralized Finance Control processes, ensuring standardized and consistent execution across Manila.
  • Onshore Interface: Serve as the primary point of contact for process and control matters, partnering closely with onshore stakeholders to align operations with statutory, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Process & Systems Acumen: Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and apply Finance Control process flows, system functionalities, and end‑to‑end operational dependencies.
  • Accounting Standards & Policy Knowledge: Apply working knowledge of accounting standards and Finance policies (e.g. IFRS, including areas such as IFRS 16, fixed assets accounting, and recognition principles), or demonstrate strong learning agility and practical application of these standards in day‑to‑day oversight.
  • Process Improvement: Drive and support re‑engineering, simplification, automation, and centralization initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and control effectiveness.
  • Risk & Control Management: Identify risks, control gaps, and inefficiencies, and support remediation activities to strengthen the overall control environment.
  • Cross‑Team Support & Capability Building: Provide coverage for peers and contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and capability uplift across the Finance Control team.

What will your day look like?

The Finance Control Centre of Excellence (CoE) exist to standardize, optimize, and safeguard the finance processes performed across the function. The team ensures a robust control environment, embeds operational resilience, and serves as the engine for continuous improvement and best‑practice adoption in Finance Control.

 

  • Month-End Close & Reporting: Oversee close governance, journal controls, reconciliations, balance sheet substantiation, and group reporting.
  • Technical accounting: Support the business by analyzing complex accounting issues, researching applicable accounting standards, and preparing technical accounting memos. Your day-to-day work will include advising stakeholders on transactions, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies.
  • Financial Statement preparation: Focus on preparing and coordinating the Annual Financial Statements, including compiling financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and aligning disclosures with regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, respond to audit queries, reconcile schedules, and support timely filing and approval of statutory reports.
  • Audit Management: Respond promptly to auditor queries and address findings in a timely manner.
  • Control Integrity: Maintain strong, consistent controls across processes and regions to prevent gaps and reduce non‑financial risk.
  • Compliance & Assurance: Identify and mitigate compliance risks, ensure adherence to policies/regulations, and provide accurate, consistent financial reporting.
  • Time management: Comfortable working with tight and moving deadlines
  • Stakeholder Management: Comfortable having conversations and discussions with multiple stakeholders.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline; CA / CPA preferred
  • Strong experience and demonstrated interest in process re‑engineering and continuous improvement
  • Extensive years’ professional experience within financial services or regulated environments
  • Deep working knowledge of financial controls, including design, operation, and oversight
  • Strong process, controls, and systems acumen, enabling effective process excellence and change delivery
  • Proven ability to identify, implement, and embed improvements to processes and reporting
  • Highly articulate communicator with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
