About the Role

 

As a Financial Control Associate, you will play a key role in supporting financial operations across Singapore and the Greater Mekong Region. This position offers exposure to a diverse range of responsibilities, including assisting with local regulatory reporting requirements for assigned countries, supporting the monthly financial close process, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and contributing to APRA reporting and statutory financial statement preparation.

 

In this role, you will ensure that financial controls and data integrity checks are effectively implemented, maintaining compliance and accuracy in reporting. Your contributions will be instrumental in strengthening financial governance and supporting the legal entities within the region.

 

Additionally, you will support the efficient functioning of the Hub Financial Control team, ensuring high productivity and quality in operations. You will also foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders both within and outside the Hub, facilitating collaboration and effective communication.

Shift Schedule: Hybrid; dayshift schedule

What will your day look like?

 

In particular, this role is responsible for:

 

  • Supporting the Institutional ex-Markets related accounting and reporting services to support the onshore teams including the provision of accurate and timely financial and local regulatory information and ensuring that all processes and reporting obligations are adequately met
  • Deliver preparation tasks for country agnostic processes e.g. journals, recs, analytical review, local regulatory reports etc.
  • Support the implementation and ownership of centralised, standardised processes and controls within the Insto team
  • Accurate and timely delivery of standardised outputs to country that are flexible enough to meet local regulatory reporting requirements, month-end delivery requirements, registers, schedules, reconciliations, trial balance, and ensuring accounting services are completed to support financial reporting and successful audit completion
  • Support GPO-driven initiatives, incl. Elimination/Simplification/Automation of relevant financial control activities, partnering with Finance Systems, Data & Innovation where applicable

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field of studies and preferably Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Previous work experience in financial control, accounting, or auditing within a financial services environment
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory frameworks
  • Proficient in MS office applications and ERP systems
  • Understanding of AI applications in finance, such as automated reconciliations and data analytics is an advantage
  • Ability to ensure data integrity and maintain financial controls
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
