About the Role

As a Financial Control Associate, you will have an opportunity to be exposed to a wide range of activities such as supporting the local regulatory requirements of the countries under your supervision, support the monthly financial close process, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, Group reporting, statutory financial statement preparation and reporting, while ensuring that controls and data integrity checks are in place. The role will play a vital function to support international legal entities.

 

Also, you will contribute to the overall efficient operation of the Hub Financial Control team to ensure productivity and quality and will also develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders within and outside the Hub.

What will your day look like?

The role is part of the Financial Control (FC) community of practice, with principal general accountabilities being:

 

  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Implementation of the Group’s accounting policies and internal control frameworks
  • Integrity of the numbers by delivering accurate, reliable and timely financial information
  • Driving Future of Finance simplification agenda, ensuring consistency with objectives and a focus on continuous improvement
  • Embedding a robust governance culture

In particular, this role is responsible for:

  • Supporting the International countries related services to support the onshore teams including the provision of accurate and timely financial information and timely local regulatory information and ensuring that all processes and reporting obligations are adequately met
  • Apply working knowledge of accounting standards and Finance policies, or demonstrate strong learning agility and practical application of these standards.
  • Deliver preparation of tasks for country agnostic processes e.g. journals, recs, local regulatory reports etc.
  • Provide coverage for peers and contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and capability uplift across the Finance Control team
  • Preparation of local financial statements requirements of legal entity
  • Support the implementation and ownership of centralised, standardised processes and controls within the International team
  • Accurate and timely delivery of standardised outputs to country that are flexible enough to meet local regulatory reporting requirements, month-end delivery requirements, registers, schedules, reconciliations, trial balance, and ensuring accounting services are completed to support financial reporting and successful audit completion
  • Support the BU change agenda, incl. Elimination/Simplification/Automation of relevant financial control activities, partnering with Manila Digital & Automation Team where applicable

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field of studies and preferably Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Proven experience in financial services roles and preferably have adept technical knowledge in financial statements preparation
  • Solid working knowledge of financial control within a financial services environment. Experience in big 4 external audit firm is an advantage
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives; knowledge in intermediate/advance Excel techniques, VBA, or data analytics tools will be an advantage
  • Experience in presenting finance matters, including issues and resolutions to stakeholders
