About the Role

 

This role is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of Structured Export Finance (“SEF”) and Project Finance (“PF”) transactions for the broader Corporate Finance business in Europe.  As a Corporate Finance Director, you will work with the global Corporate Finance team to develop and drive delivery of the project and export finance business strategy and operating plan.

What will your day look like?

 

 

Your key day-to-day activities includes but not limited to:

 

  • Relationship management of ECA’s / multilaterals: Lead the engagement and origination efforts with European ECA’s and multilateral organisation.
  • Support cross boarder execution of transactions involving European ECA’s and European multilateral organisation – including review and negotiations of relevant ECA documentation and policies.
  • Support ANZ’s “well managed” requirements in respect of the Export Finance business.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction and generate future value by building productive relationships with existing and relevant new clients and delivering superior transaction leadership, strategic insight and execution excellence.
  • Strengthen our customers’ energy transition plans so that more customers achieve a well-developed or advanced rating. Fund and facilitate sustainable solutions for our customers
  • Embed SEF in the customer and franchise planning process; identify key external customer relationships in collaboration with Relationship Managers and build relationships with ECAs in the region.
  • Balance risk/return objectives in the retention and growth of clients within the SEF/PF product transaction guidelines and relevant sector transaction guidelines
  • Lead the structuring of Export and Project Finance transactions leveraging superior product knowledge and undertaking rigorous analysis where necessary
  • Contribute to the management of the PEF portfolio in the region engaging stakeholders as required; ensure adequate audit results and ensure capital efficiency by implementing appropriate processes and procedures 
  • Maintain credit quality by ensuring all credit related matters have been addressed, including the identification of adverse trends and potential risk events
  • Drive global consistency across Corporate Finance and implement initiatives to improve customer experience, business processes and performance

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Experience in structured finance with a sound knowledge of the export finance market and the challenges faced by customers. European ECA experience required.
  • Exceptional influencing, networking and interpersonal skills with a proactive and positive approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify new financing opportunities and deliver innovative financing solutions.
  • Deep experience with credit negotiations, risk assessment, cashflow analysis/ modelling and transaction documentation.
  • Tertiary qualifications/relevant technical qualifications and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor, coach and develop others.
