About the Role

As an Associate Director - Institutional NFR UK & Europe you will play a critical role in supporting the sustainable growth of our Institutional business across UK and Europe by acting as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders in London, Paris and Frankfurt.

This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for ensuring non-financial risks are effectively identified, assessed, managed and reported within risk appetite across our Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance and Coverage businesses. You will partner closely with business leaders, risk teams and key stakeholders to drive strong risk governance, regulatory compliance and proactive risk management practices that support sound customer and business outcomes. In addition, this role will be responsible for governance and oversight of all activities relating to Operational Resilience, Business Continuity, Crisis Management and Third Party Risk Management across the region in line with local regulations.

You will also play an important role in supporting the delivery of PACT, ANZ's enterprise-wide non-financial risk uplift program, while helping the business navigate a dynamic regulatory environment across the UK and Europe.

What will your day look like?

As an Associate Director - Institutional NFR UK & Europe, you will;

• Act as a trusted non-financial risk advisor to business leaders across London, Paris and Frankfurt, supporting strategic decision-making and sustainable growth within risk appetite.
• Provide oversight and constructive challenge on risk profiles, control effectiveness, emerging risk themes and risk-in-change across Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance and Coverage.
• Lead and coordinate key risk governance forums, ensuring robust reporting, escalation and decision-making processes.
• Ensure material non-financial risks are identified, assessed, monitored and managed effectively, with clear ownership and timely escalation of issues.
• Drive the enhancement of risk controls, governance processes and reporting capabilities to strengthen the overall control environment.
• Manage and support the annual Risk Appetite Statement process across the region, ensuring alignment with broader International and Group requirements.
• Translate emerging regulatory requirements into practical actions and support the effective implementation of regulatory change initiatives.
• Support the delivery and embedding of ANZ's PACT program, driving adoption of enhanced non-financial risk capabilities, processes and controls.
• Act as a Centre of Excellence for Operational Resilience and Third-Party Risk Management, supporting UK Operational Resilience and DORA requirements.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across the business, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit and support functions to strengthen governance, resilience and customer outcomes.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Extensive experience in Institutional Banking and Non-Financial Risk Management within a complex financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of either Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance and Coverage business models, products and operating environments.
• Deep expertise in non-financial risk frameworks, governance practices, controls and risk appetite management.
• Proven ability to operate as a trusted advisor, influencing senior stakeholders and balancing commercial objectives with effective risk management.
• Demonstrated experience translating regulatory expectations into practical, sustainable business outcomes.
• Strong track record of leading risk, control or regulatory change initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
• Knowledge of prudential, conduct, operational risk and resilience regulatory requirements relevant to international banking operations.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to distil complex risk matters into clear and actionable insights.
• Experience building and maintaining strong partnerships across business, risk and control functions in a matrixed environment.
• Strong leadership capability with experience developing talent, fostering accountability and promoting a positive risk culture.
• Experience leveraging management information, risk data and reporting insights to inform governance and decision-making.
• Familiarity with enterprise risk systems, governance tools and control monitoring frameworks.
