About the Role
As an Associate Director, FIG R&A you will be responsible to contribute across the end-to-end relationship credit management process covering Origination, Transaction Structuring, Risk Grading, Risk Analysis & Credit Approval, Documentation, Portfolio Monitoring and Specialised Industry Research.
Your role will focus on the production of high quality and fit for purpose analysis to support credit decisions, alongside a team of specialised credit analysts, covering NBFIs and Financial Sponsors.
You will be a change agent and drive efficiencies across policy, process, systems and risk management through role modelling growth mindset, leadership imperatives and embracing the digital agenda across both FIG R&A Europe and FIG R&A International segments.

What will your day look like?
As an Associate Director, Financial Institutions Group Research & Analysis, you will:
- Provide first line of defence (in conjunction with relationship executives), ensure well managed principles and manage credit risks within an allocated portfolio
- Represent R&A & Relationship Management teams in all GCA & GIA reviews
- Drive cross-divisional, cross-border and multi-product relationships to ensure deep understanding of strategic imperatives of FIG business and best customer service
- Build and maintain effective customer engagement where appropriate and strong working relationships with FIG RMs and FI Risk for effective collaboration and engagement to navigate appropriate negotiations to ensure strong understanding of customer’s commercial objectives
- Contribute to the development of strategy and supporting plans for on boarding of new transactions, deal structuring/opportunities and managing deteriorating credits.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Extensive banking experience with strong experience in relationship credit management.
- Highly advanced collaboration, relationship, networking, and communication skills.
- Strong client focus with the capability of leading due diligence activities, negotiations and senior level customer engagements.
- Excellent credit analysis skills, ability to understand complex global businesses, including sound knowledge of key products and documentation. Highly commercial with a proven ability to balance risk/reward priorities.
- Country specific risk knowledge and understanding of the operating and regulatory environment across jurisdictions.
- Strong knowledge and exposure to ANZ Risk & Compliance management
- Strong presentation skills
- Strategic mindset, ability to resolve issues that may cover one or more dimensions (process, financial, risk or people).
- Ability to build, maintain and drive effective relationships across jurisdictions.
- Planning and organisational skills, capable of prioritising effectively in order to meet all requirements – strong attention to detail, limited supervision and capable of driving agenda for customer, product, relationship and for risk.
