About the Role
As the Director of International Banking, you are responsible for managing a defined portfolio of existing and new Malaysian customers across the ANZ network. You act as the Global Contact Point for Malaysian‑origin relationships, working closely with the Chief Representative to support country franchise objectives and client selection within the approved market strategy.
You grow the portfolio by originating new business, conducting financial analysis, and developing credit strategy recommendations in line with the throw‑market approach. This includes partnering with analysts to support Credit Risk approvals and managing credit and operational risks while delivering agreed growth outcomes and strong customer experience.

What will your day look like?
As the Director of International Banking, you will;
- Develop and execute strategies to acquire new customers and grow business with existing clients
- Retain profitable customers by delivering strong customer service and consistently meeting expectations
- Build and maintain a deep understanding of customers’ businesses and financial services needs
- Develop and execute customer strategies, partnering with product specialists to grow share of wallet through new products and services
- Build and leverage networks to source new business, strengthen existing relationships, and improve competitiveness
- Identify, develop, and convert new customer prospects while driving customer up‑tiering and cross‑sell opportunities
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, penetration, and relationship depth
- Maintain portfolio quality through sound credit assessment, lending decisions, and accurate account management
- Review credit documentation to identify and assess risks and monitor early signs of credit quality deterioration
- Ensure adherence to the Bank’s credit policies, Group standards, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Tertiary qualification in a business‑related field
- Strong customer focus with demonstrated relationship management experience
- Proven ability to originate new customers and grow existing relationships
- Strong knowledge of financial statements with sound business lending and credit assessment capability
- Accountable for total effort contribution, revenue growth, and revenue/RWA outcomes
- Responsible for expenditure budget management and cost of credit discipline
- Proven analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills
- Strong understanding of the ANZ product and services portfolio, with the ability to engage product specialists where appropriate
