About the Role
As an Associate Director, International Banking, you will support the Chief Representative and Director, International Banking, in managing and growing ANZ's Malaysia franchise across both Corporate and Financial Institution clients.
The role combines client coverage, business development, strategic planning and transaction execution. Working alongside senior bankers, you will actively engage with clients, support origination and relationship development activities, and help coordinate the execution of opportunities across the ANZ network. You will also play an important role in developing and executing the Malaysia franchise strategy, identifying growth opportunities, and partnering with coverage, product, analyst, risk and credit teams to deliver successful customer outcomes.
This role is well suited to a high-performing banker seeking to broaden their coverage, execution and strategic leadership experience, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility for client relationships and franchise initiatives over time.

What will your day look like?
As an Associate Director, International Banking, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Chief Representative and Director, International Banking, in managing and growing ANZ's relationships across Malaysia's Corporate and Financial Institution client base.
- Developing meaningful client relationships through regular engagement, including participating in client meetings, supporting origination activities and identifying opportunities to deepen ANZ's relationships and share of wallet.
- Supporting the development, monitoring and execution of the Malaysia franchise strategy, including identifying growth opportunities and tracking strategic priorities across the portfolio.
- Driving the execution of client opportunities by working closely with customers and coordinating stakeholders across relationship teams, product partners, analysts, credit and risk functions to deliver successful outcomes.
- Partnering closely with analysts to prepare high-quality account plans, customer strategies, credit submissions and transaction papers that clearly articulate opportunities, risks and recommended actions.
- Supporting the growth of the portfolio through identifying and securing new business opportunities, conducting financial analysis and recommending customer and portfolio strategies aligned to the country growth plan.
- Monitoring pipeline activity, account strategies and portfolio performance to ensure opportunities are progressed efficiently and customer outcomes are achieved.
- Collaborating with colleagues across multiple geographies and product teams to deliver a coordinated and consistent customer experience.
- Supporting the preparation of customer plans, management presentations, strategic reviews and business performance updates for senior stakeholders.
- Contributing to a high-performing team culture, while continually developing broader coverage, leadership and franchise management capabilities.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
- Experience in relationship management and/or Corporate Banking and a demonstrated ability to originate, develop and execute new business opportunities.
- Strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills, with a sound understanding of business lending and risk management principles.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality account strategies, credit submissions, management papers and client presentations.
- Strong execution capability, including the ability to coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders to progress opportunities from origination through to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build credibility with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of banking products and services, and the ability to collaborate effectively across a large organisation to bring together specialists and solutions for customers.
- Proven analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills with a strong customer focus.
- Ability to think strategically while maintaining a strong focus on execution and delivery.
- A growth mindset and desire to develop into broader leadership and senior client coverage responsibilities over time.
- Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline.
