About the Role
This role reports to the Country head of Indonesia. The incumbent will present, execute and deliver the strategy for TB in the areas of customer target segmentation, client engagement, product distribution and delivery, and risk management and control, with direct oversight over the end-to-end management of the business. The candidate will be part of the country Leadership Team.

What will your day look like?
The successful candidate will lead a team providing Cash Management and Trade Finance solutions to ANZ Indonesia through an effective strategy that is aligned with ANZ’s target customer segments and their evolving needs.The role requires strong people and industry leadership and effective collaboration with key stakeholders (global, regional and in-country senior leadership) whilst maintaining direct oversight for the delivery of Transaction Banking solutions.
To be effective, the successful candidate must have a strong understanding of the Indonesia banking market, including regulatory and compliance requirements. The candidate should also have experience in country Asset & Liability management via ALCO.
The successful candidate will bring together capabilities in sales generation, deal execution, people management and business risk management. The candidate will be responsible for providing a strategic direction for a diverse sales team and ensuring a disciplined approach to tracking and delivery of sales revenue, as well as enhancing ‘best in class’ sales practices. In addition, effective collaboration across different stakeholders beyond Indonesia is also required to ensure market opportunities across ANZ’s footprint are maximized. The candidate will be expected to have strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with senior client contacts to effectively grow the client relationships together with the team.
From a risk management perspective, the successful candidate will be the end-to-end owner of the Transaction Banking risk in-country. Of particular importance will be proactive management of Non-Financial Risks (NFR). Timely and effective management of any NFR events is imperative to minimize and reduce risk to the business. Candidates with experience dealing with local NFR risk in Indonesia will have an advantage.
Accountabilities
Financial:
- Achieve targeted growth in financial performance including Balance Sheet and other performance metrics such as ROE, Revenue/RWA, ZCEP, NPAT and NIM
- Maximize profitable growth and drive sales momentum and customer pipeline for new revenue, organic growth and retention across new and existing customer relationships
- Lead and drive complex and large value transactions
- Take a proactive role in ALCO to ensure optimum outcomes for the Bank & Transaction Banking
- Grow ANZ’s Transaction Banking product market share across priority segments
- Ability to connect within the wider ANZ Network to maximize catch revenue in Indonesia
Customer:
- Drive sales across ANZ’s target list of customers to ensure enhanced connectivity across ANZ’s network
- Build accretive customer relationships focused on ANZ’s returns and maximize value for ANZ where capital is deployed
- Drive customer-centric sales/industry strategies that are closely aligned with our customer segmentation model
Process:
- Effective pipeline and financial management using sales management platforms
- Effective collaboration and delivery of all strategic initiatives
- Ensure effective systems are in place to manage risks (credit and operational) and minimize losses
- Manage business and operational risks with proactive engagement with relationship and risk teams
- Proactive management of regulatory and compliance risks
People:
- Represent TB within the ANZ Indonesia leadership teams and play an active part in the Indonesia leadership agenda
- Provide people leadership and guidance across the entire TB team in-Indonesia through clear and well-defined objective setting, development programs and staff engagement
- Drive a high-performance culture coupled with strong risk culture
- Develop effective relationships through cross border/regional engagement in support of our client engagements

What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Sound understanding of the Transaction Banking business, capable of facilitating a strategic dialogue at senior management/executive level
- Strong customer focus and relationship management skills and experience
- Sound understanding of the business and market environment in which ANZ operates including industry trends, the economic and regulatory landscape and implications for ANZ and our customers
- Result oriented with strong display of perseverance
- Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
- Enterprise leadership skills, seen as a strong role model including managing performance, talent, mentoring and developing others
- English Language proficiency is a key requirement. Local language skills are an added advantage

Experience:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications
- 10 to 15 years’ experience in Banking with focus in Transaction Banking
- Ability to build Client relationships and track record of growing a sales business
- Proven track record in strong stakeholder management
- Understanding of Regulatory Environment
