Mō te tūranga - About the role

As Branch Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading a high-performing team, creating a workplace where people feel supported, empowered, and driven to deliver outstanding customer experiences. You’ll set the tone for your branch – building trust, encouraging growth, and making sure the team feels confident and connected in their work.

This is a people-focused leadership role where you’ll guide day-to-day operations, coach for quality conversations, and champion a culture of care, curiosity, and shared success. If you’re someone who thrives on supporting others and growing strong relationships, this role is for you.

Role Location: Invercargill

Role Type: Permanent

Role Hours: Standard 37.5 hours per week

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like

You’ll lead by example, bringing energy and clarity to your team while supporting a seamless customer experience. Your focus will be on performance, development, and creating a safe and positive environment where everyone can thrive.

  • Start the day with team check-ins and clear planning to set goals and direction
  • Coach team members through customer conversations and day-to-day challenges
  • Work closely with customers to understand and meet their financial needs
  • Collaborate with Banking sectors to deliver customer solutions
  • Monitor branch operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and seamless service
  • Identify opportunities for local growth and lead initiatives within your community

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

We’re looking for a leader who puts people first – someone with strong communication skills, sound judgement, and a growth mindset. You’ll be confident supporting your team through change and skilled at balancing multiple priorities.

  • A customer-first approach with a natural ability to build trust and rapport
  • Leadership experience, including coaching and team development
  • Confidence managing performance, change, and daily operations
  • A clear understanding of compliance, or a willingness to learn
  • Experience in Home Lending or Business Banking (desirable but not essential)
  • A collaborative, inclusive style and commitment to continuous learning

You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.

He aha te take e uru ai koe ki a mātou? - So, why join us?

From the moment you join ANZ, you'll be part of a work whānau striving towards a common purpose: shaping a world where communities thrive.

We're a diverse community at ANZ in different roles, different locations, doing different things. That's why we have a range of flexible working arrangements, so our people can 'make work, work for them'. We also provide a range of benefits including access to wellbeing services and discounts on selected products and services from ANZ and more.

At ANZ you'll be part of an organisation where the different backgrounds, perspectives and life experiences of our people are celebrated.
