About the Role
As the Head of Transaction Processing & Reporting within our Institutional Operations team in Hong Kong, you will spearhead the end-to-end operations of payment processing, static data maintenance, and transaction reporting. This pivotal leadership role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all transaction-related workflows.
Beyond ensuring seamless service delivery, you will align operational strategies with business goals, enhance client satisfaction, and drive automation and efficiency. You will also oversee critical banking functions, maintain strong governance over offshore teams, and proactively manage risk and control to ensure operational resiliency.

What will your day look like?
As the Head of Transaction Processing & Reporting, you will:
- Oversee the end-to-end processing of payment transactions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage and maintain static data integrity across client, account, and reference data systems.
- Produce and review operational dashboards and business reports to monitor performance and support decision-making.
- Act as the primary liaison for external infrastructure partners such as HKICL and HKMA for settlement operations and regulatory reporting.
- Drive automation and digitization initiatives to enhance data quality, reduce operational risk, and improve turnaround time.
- Strengthen control frameworks to mitigate non-financial risks such as reconciliation breaks and data integrity issues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Technology, Risk, Compliance, Product, and Front Office to align operational processes with business needs.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at operational improvements, system enhancements, and issue resolution.
- Ensure operational resiliency through strong governance, proactive risk assessment, and business continuity planning.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a growth mindset and career development opportunities.
- Oversee both onshore and offshore teams, ensuring robust governance, performance monitoring, and effective escalation management.
- Promote a culture of transparency, teamwork, and continuous improvement in service delivery.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Extensive experience in Institutional banking operations, including experience in leadership roles.
- Deep expertise in payment operations, settlement processes, and account maintenance.
- Proven ability to lead teams through transformation and operational improvements.
- Skilled in automation, process optimization, and risk mitigation.
- Extensive experience managing onshore and offshore teams with structured governance.
- Strong project management capabilities, driving initiatives from strategy to execution.
- Strong risk awareness with expertise in non-financial risk controls.
- Familiarity with change management and transformation programs.
- Exposure to client onboarding, KYC, and trade finance operations.
- Effective leadership, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Analytical thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
