About the Role
As the Head of Technology & Automotive International, you will play a key role in leading a priority growth sector for International, partnering with Coverage and Product Partners across the ANZ network to identify, originate, and execute new business opportunities within the sector. The role carries responsibility for proactive industry risk oversight, portfolio governance and strategic client engagement & senior sponsorship.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong focus ANZ Values, with proven ability to put customers first, deliver with excellence, own the outcome and work as one. This role requires close collaboration across divisional teams, as well as with Products, Risk, and Enablement Partners, to deliver integrated customer first solutions and drive sustainable portfolio growth.
This position is subject to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Mandatory Reference Checking Scheme (MRC Scheme), which strengthens integrity in the banking sector through enhanced vetting of individuals applying for certain roles. What will your day look like?
Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Lead strategy and risk appetite for International Technology and Automotive sector, identifying and capturing key opportunities arising from structural industry trends.
- Build and grow profitable senior client relationships by delivering exceptional, tailored banking solutions, elevating engagement to strategic-partner level, and executing client and industry strategies to expand share of wallet in collaboration with product specialists.
- Map client needs to internal capabilities across coverage, risk, operations and product functions and drive capabilities/functionality development to ensure an excellent client experience.
- Coordinate with Coverage teams and Product Partners across the ANZ network to identify and originate new business.
- Maintaining industry expertise and awareness of evolving technology trends & geopolitical landscape for proactive portfolio risk management
- Review and support material credit submissions to ensure that all risk inherent in credit exposures are identified and assessed.
- Lead team members by role modelling behaviours and ANZ values and act as true ambassador for the business both internally and externally.
- Assist implementation of strong governance structure with checks and measures to ensure the business is fully compliant with regulatory standards and internal policies and processes.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will bring the following:
- Extensive banking experience with track record of managing large customer relationships and complex transactions from origination to execution.
- Industry knowledge of the Technology and Automotive sector, business, political, social and economic trends and challenges of the country/region in which the business operates. Candidates with limited knowledge of the sector will be considered but must demonstrate strong interest in these sectors with ability to think laterally.
- Strong leadership experience and general knowledge across various products offered across corporate finance, transaction banking and markets.
- Customer first mindset with strong business acumen to identify, understand and provide solutions to customers with urgency.
- Strong effective written and verbal communication skills for both external and internal engagements. Demonstrate ability to influence outcomes and get buy-in from stakeholders.
- Discipline in strategy execution and risk management, leveraging industry knowledge to proactively manage emerging risks.
