As the Head of Coverage, you will play a pivotal leadership role in for in Hong Kong, one of the most dynamic banking environments. You will drive the strategy and execution of our client engagement, lead a high-performing team, and ensure robust governance across our corporate and institutional client base. This role is central to our ambition to grow, deepen relationships, and deliver sustainable value for our clients and the bank.

What will your day look like?

Strategic Leadership

Define and execute the relationship banking strategy for Hong Kong, aligning with regional and global priorities. Champion innovation in client coverage, portfolio development, and revenue growth, while maintaining disciplined risk and returns management.

Client-Centric Engagement

Serve as a trusted advisor to key clients, delivering tailored solutions that address complex, multi-product, and multi-geography needs. Foster deep, long-term relationships with corporate and institutional clients, ensuring exceptional service and value creation.

Team Development & Performance

Lead, coach, and inspire a team of senior relationship managers and corporate bankers. Promote a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Empower your team to navigate change, demonstrate curiosity and empathy, and achieve shared clarity and success.

Compliance, Governance & Regulatory Accountability

Uphold the highest standards of governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Implement strong controls and a “no surprises” risk culture (including non-financial risks), ensuring the business operates within internal and external frameworks.

Designated as the principally responsible individual and S72B Manager under the HKMA’s senior manager regime, this role is accountable for conduct and business-as-usual operations, with responsibility for establishing a robust governance structure and effective measures to ensure full compliance with all regulatory standards, internal policies, and processes.

Required to fulfill all local regulatory licensing and registration requirements with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. In line with regulatory expectations, this position is also subject to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Mandatory Reference Checking Scheme (MRC Scheme), which strengthens integrity in the banking sector through enhanced vetting of individuals applying for certain roles. What will you bring?

• Proven leadership experience in relationship banking or corporate coverage, ideally within the Hong Kong financial services sector
• Strong strategic thinking and stakeholder management skills
• Deep understanding of financial products, credit, and regulatory environments
• Exceptional communication and team leadership capabilities
• Advocate of culture and connecting colleagues locally and regionally
• Fluent in English; Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus
