About the Role
As a Director, Transaction Banking Financial Institutions (TBFI) Sales, you will be responsible for driving business growth across a portfolio of Financial Institution clients, covering Banks headquartered in China, HK and Taiwan as well as in-bound International Banks, and selected Non-Bank Financial Institutions such as brokers/dealers, insurance firms etc. You will grow revenue from existing relationships while proactively originating new opportunities through an advisory-led approach, leveraging the bank’s global capabilities and network.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will structure and deliver tailored transaction banking solutions that address client needs and create long-term value. Your ability to navigate complex client environments and align strategic objectives will be key to deepening relationships and positioning the bank as a trusted partner.

What will your day look like?
As a Director, TB FI Sales, you will;
- Manage and grow revenue for the assigned portfolio of clients
- Identify new business opportunities, customize Transaction Banking solutions, deliver presentations and demonstrations for clients, and lead or support RFI/RFP processes
- Develop and execute Transaction Banking Financial Institutions (TB FI) sales strategies and initiatives
- Work with a diverse set of stakeholders across the globe, including FIG Relationship Management, Product teams covering Payment and Cash Management (PCM) and Trade Finance (Trade), Technology, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Client Service / Implementation teams, and Enablement teams to deliver positive business outcomes and uplift customer experience
- While achieving your set revenue and returns target, exercise strong discipline in well-managed agenda through proactive management of risk and compliance matters, including timely escalation to the appropriate business partners
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred
- Extensive experience in the Transaction Banking business, with a strong track record in sales preferred
- Strong specialist product knowledge in Transaction Banking solutions, especially Clearing Services, Payments and Cash Management, and Trade Finance
- Regional Transaction Banking product knowledge and understanding of APAC markets, with a good grasp of the Greater China market
- Curiosity and understanding of digital trends and innovations such as Real-Time Payments, Digital Assets, APIs, etc.
- Ability to identify business opportunities and develop effective sales strategies
- Proven capability to manage competing agendas and priorities across a diverse client portfolio and multiple internal stakeholders
- Results-oriented mindset with strong perseverance and a solutions-driven approach
- Autonomous self-starter with meticulous attention to work quality and standards, while also being a collaborative team player
- Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and data visualization/analytics software
- Ability to read and write in Chinese is a must; fluency in Mandarin speaking is also a must, as the role involves regular engagement with Chinese-speaking clients and stakeholders, including reviewing client documentation and conducting business discussions in Mandarin
