About the Role

As a Director, Markets NFR, Global Sales you will provide leadership across a federated Non-Financial Risk (NFR) operating model, bringing together both direct and virtual team members to deliver consistent risk support, oversight and insight across globally operated Sales businesses. You will ensure alignment with global standards while meeting local regulatory and business requirements. 

 

You will foster collaboration across regions and functions, supporting a cohesive and effective approach to risk management within a globally distributed operating environment.

What will your day look like?

  • Lead a federated NFR team across direct and in-market resources, ensuring clarity, alignment and consistent delivery  
  • Monitor regulatory developments, assess business impact, and coordinate effective implementation with Regulatory Risk  
  • Build and influence senior stakeholder relationships to drive strong risk outcomes and accountability  
  • Strengthen frontline risk ownership through clear supervision and disciplined decision-making  
  • Drive control uplift across Sales, improving design, testing, and remediation to enhance effectiveness  
  • Champion a strong risk culture, reinforcing accountability, challenge and escalation discipline  
  • Provide risk leadership across business, regulatory, technology and process change initiatives  
  • Align reporting, governance and risk insights across global and regional teams for consistency and transparency 

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: 

 

  • Deep experience in non-financial risk, governance and control leadership within Institutional Markets, Sales, or similar wholesale banking environments  
  • Strong understanding of risk profiles, business activities and regulatory expectations across global Sales businesses  
  • Proven ability to lead federated or matrix teams across geographies, ensuring alignment and consistent execution  
  • Experience assessing regulatory change and leading implementation within first-line environments  
  • Track record of strengthening first-line risk ownership through control uplift, governance improvement and issue management  
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment on risk priorities, decisions and remediation actions  
  • Strong strategic, analytical and communication skills, translating complex risk issues into clear business outcomes  
  • Familiarity with risk frameworks and ability to embed them into practical, technology-enabled processes and governance  
  • Experience designing and improving governance, reporting and risk monitoring using data and automation  
  • Proficiency in data analytics and visualisation to deliver forward-looking risk insight 
  • Professional certifications in risk, governance, or data analytics are desirable  
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, risk, finance, or a related field are highly regarded
