About the Role

 

As Associate Director, Business Execution – Financial Institutional (FI) Sales, you will primarily be responsible for driving the strategy & business execution agenda for FI Sales customer segment, ensuring the business operates effectively across strategic, financial, operational, governance and risk priorities.  You will act as a trusted adviser to the Head of FI Sales, helping shape strategic direction, deliver business outcomes and maintain a strong control environment.

 

You will also support Markets coverage across North Asia countries to ensure appropriate on-the-ground coordination and alignment across local and global priorities.

 

The role requires close collaboration with FI Sales leadership, Markets Asia leadership, Business Execution, Risk, Finance, Operations, Legal, Compliance and other enablement partners to ensure risks, processes and best practices are understood and applied consistently.

What will your day look like?

 

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:      

 

  • Monitor and analyze financial and non-financial performance metrics for the FI Sales business, including budget management, performance reporting, and expense oversight.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to FI Sales leadership, providing strategic insights, constructive challenge, and support on strategy and business execution priorities.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and implement growth strategies, client value propositions, and business plans that drive sustainable performance.
  • Lead business case development and coordinate the delivery of strategic, operational, efficiency, and change initiatives across the FI Sales business.
  • Support day-to-day business management activities, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, remuneration processes, and training initiatives.
  • Manage governance, operational risk, and control frameworks by partnering with Risk, Compliance, and Governance teams to address issues, incidents, audits, and remediation activities.
  • Coordinate senior management reporting, governance forums, regulatory submissions, executive presentations, and responses to regulatory changes impacting the business.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across local, regional, and global teams to drive collaboration, influence outcomes, and ensure effective execution of business priorities.
  • Support and coordinate business management, governance, and strategic execution activities across North Asia Markets, ensuring alignment with regional and global objectives.

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will bring the following:

 

  • The ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of the Financial Markets, particularly FI Sales customer segments and the environment that ANZ Markets operates in with demonstrated understanding of products, sales and trading.
  • Extensive experience ensuring an optimised and effective control environment and demonstrated experience to operationalise policies and procedures to meet internal and regulatory obligations.
  • Highly developed capability for risk focused, with commercial and analytical judgement
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders in a complex matrix environment.
  • Maturity of approach and strong resilience and ability to cope with ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated ANZ leadership capabilities, including delivering results, leading change, exercising sound judgement, building relationships, broadening perspective and developing self and others.
  • Experience working with front office sales and traders would be advantageous.
