About the Role

Reporting to Head of MNC Hong Kong & China, you will manage a portfolio of both Multinational Corporations and China Corporate clients in Hong Kong with a full range of products including Lending, Markets, Transaction Banking and Debt Capital Markets. A key requirement of this role is to work with the global relationship manager (GPCs) and Product Partners as well as to cross sell into broader products or facilities and deepen the bank’s share of wallet for Hong Kong and regionally where appropriate.

 

Role Type: Permanent, Full Time

What will your day look like?

  • Relationship coverage mainly for Chinese Corporate Clients. Acquire new customers and to identify new business opportunities with existing customers.
  • Work closely with Team Head and GCP in origination of business opportunities and execution.
  • Maintain BAU loan and liability portfolio and work with Relationship Manager on the pricing strategy and follow up. 
  • Client up-tiering and cross sell into broader products or facilities where appropriate.
  • Ongoing vigilance and ensuring quality of portfolio and KYC compliance adherence through periodical and adhoc reviews.
  • Ensuring portfolios compliance with group standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively seek referrals from existing customers or other business units including GCPs
  • Set workflow controls by ensuring key tasks and activities are prioritised and managed with a focus on client management.
  • Ensure quality of portfolio through sound credit assessment, lending decisions and accurate account management.
  • Monitor quality and integrity of data and analysis of accounts in the team’s portfolio.

  • Corporate Relationship Management experience and banking product knowledge.
  • Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to listen to the client's needs and a genuine interest in the clients’ business.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively and leverage the bank’s resources.
  • Strong team player.
  • Fluent Mandarin speaking and listening is a must as the portfolio will be mainly Chinese Corporates and stakeholders in China.
  • Experience in client-facing roles is an advantage
