About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Transaction Banking, Southeast Asia, India and Middle East, with a matrix reporting line to the Country Head, Vietnam, you are responsible for the leadership, end-to-end business management, profitability, risk, governance and people leadership for the Transaction Banking (“TB”) business in Vietnam. You will be part of the country Leadership Team, represent the country at regional meetings and coordinate regionally with the Head of Transaction Banking, Southeast Asia, India and Middle East. You also have responsibility for the regulatory and internal ANZ obligations associated with the role.
You will lead the country TB sales teams in Vietnam, developing and executing business across PCM and TSC in alignment with our Insto business strategy.
The role requires strong people and industry leadership to drive and grow TB’s market position in Vietnam through effective collaboration with stakeholders, whilst maintaining direct oversight for the delivery of TB solutions to our clients.
You will bring together capabilities and strong knowledge of customers, sales execution, risk management and people management.
You will be responsible for the culture of the team, providing direction to the sales teams and ensuring a disciplined approach to tracking and delivery of revenue, as well as developing a “total effort” sales mindset that maximizes benefit for the ANZ network.
The role requires a strong leader and communicator who can scale up the TB business by working with cross-functional teams that focus on expedient, well-formed client delivery as opportunities arise, while also instilling a disciplined, sustainable, consistent and low cost-to-serve platform for day-to-day client engagement.

What will your day look like?
- Lead the TB sales team in Vietnam to deliver targeted growth in financial performance and profitability, driving sales momentum and pipelines across relationships, while achieving financial plan targets (Revenue, ROE%, NIM%, ZCEP, Liabilities and Assets) and managing costs effectively
- Build network (catch and throw) revenues through a “total effort sales” mindset, driving sales planning and execution including pipeline management, account planning and RFP/RFI responses with Coverage
- Lead a client-centric culture through account planning, wallet-sizing and calling programs, while supporting client migration onto new channels and TB operational efficiency
- Make sound, timely decisions based on quality analysis and accurate risk grading aligned with Group Risk principles, ensuring effective risk management
- Lead by example, driving Insto and TB culture, managing performance, strengthening capability, and developing talent and succession pipelines aligned with ANZ Code of Conduct
- Implement and manage Risk & Controls, partner with Audit to ensure no overdue items, minimise NLL through escalation and root-cause analysis, and ensure compliance with ANZ Values, policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining vigilance on credit quality and Non-Financial Risk
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Proven understanding of strategy, governance, compliance, risk management, control and regulation
- 10–15+ years of leadership experience in Transaction Banking, ideally with multi-geography exposure
- Strong people leadership, influencing and change management across sales and product teams
- Deep understanding of banking, competitors and market dynamics
- Experience in international business environments
- Knowledge and application of financial and operational models, including process optimisation
- Growth mindset and understanding of emerging technologies and regulatory trends
