About the Role

 

As a Head of Corporate Coverage, you will hold business management and leadership accountability for the Coverage business in Vietnam. You are responsible for driving the Coverage component of the Vietnam Franchise Plan under the ANZ Asia Pacific growth agenda for both financial (NPAT, Revenue, Expenses etc) and non-financial (FTE, Clients, Engagement etc) performance elements. This role is also a member of the ANZ Vietnam Executive Committee.

The role delivers outcomes by taking a holistic view of the business across four key areas - coverage/distribution, risk management, product development/engagement and operations alignment – and leveraging ANZ platforms based on client needs. You will be responsible for design and execution of the growth strategy and will need to collaborate with partners in region and country to deliver on the stated while driving top line and bottom-line growth.

What will your day look like?

 

As a Head of Corporate Coverage in our Insto Relationship International South Asia team, you will:

  • Drive revenue growth, control expenditure spend and deliver on stated NPAT/ROE goals in line with segment and country targets, while increasing revenue sources and cross-sell initiatives to drive growth in market share.
  • Develop and execute client strategy and target market approaches—covering acquisition, maintenance and up-tiering—in line with the broader ANZ Vietnam strategy, in close collaboration with risk, product and operations partners and aligned with regional and country objectives.
  • Map clients need internal capabilities across risk, operations and product functions and drive capability/functionality development to ensure excellent client experience while contributing innovative thinking on product, service offerings and marketing techniques and acting as a conduit between country, region, institutional and retail partners.
  • Drive engagement with key stakeholders across enablement functions to ensure a clear understanding of the business and its aspirations while taking end-to-end responsibility for improvement of internal processes across front, middle and back office to develop a scalable, low cost-to-serve model.
  • Lead and direct the team by role modelling ANZ values and act as a true ambassador for the business both internally and externally, while managing the ongoing recruitment, motivation and retention of talented employees within the Corporate Banking team to support business growth and ensure adequate bench strength for key/critical roles.
  • Implement checks and measures to ensure the business is fully compliant with regulatory standards and internal policies and processes, ensuring adequate training, knowledge and controls are in place to effectively manage portfolios, prevent failed audits and overdue issues and ensure prompt escalation of identified business risks.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Understand the breadth and complexity of the Corporate client base and the differentiated but scalable solutions required, with the ability to communicate and gain buy-in from internal stakeholders.
  • 15 years+ broad and extensive banking experience, multi-disciplinary and multi-geography
  • Experience managing change and complexities of a fast-growing organization with a mindset to work through uncertainties and derive clarity on strategy, process and people requirements.
  • Prior exposure to Corporate Banking products, including commercial lending, cash management, trade services, treasury/financial markets, asset-based financing, investment products and business banking products.
  • Good understanding of relevant markets, business, political, social and economic trends and challenges in the country/region.
  • Capable of using influencing and negotiation strategies to build stakeholder buy-in and leveraging networking opportunities to strengthen the business’s internal and external brand.
