Mō te tūranga - About the role


As a Private Banker, you’ll  manage a set of clients and the delivery of an exceptional client experience across Private Banks balanced objectives. The primary function of the role is to develop trusted client relationships, deepen lending and investment opportunities, and provide holistic support that integrates lending, structuring, and broader banking solutions (including investments where appropriate), in line with approved strategies and policies.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like


As a Private Banker, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing strategic client plans with a clear emphasis on lending solutions aligned to client goals, needs, and risk profiles
  • Originating, structuring, and proactively managing complex lending arrangements, including residential investment, owner-occupied, and bespoke credit solutions
  • Maintaining strong knowledge of ANZ and approved external products, markets, and the economic environment
  • Ensuring all advice and services meet ANZ risk, compliance, policy, and accreditation requirements
  • Building strong internal partnerships with Credit, Risk, Product, and Specialist teams, as well as external professional networks, to deliver valued client outcomes
  • Coaching and develop Associates to enhance advice quality and client experience
  • Contributing to business development, continuous improvement, and new client growth
  • Building a professional profile in the community and role model ANZ’s values and purpose

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Experienced in developing strong relationships with clients and also build connections across professional, intermediary, community and internal networks
  • Strong communication skills that adapt style for audience and deliver advice that meet client needs, combining technical skills with confidence in discussions
  • Able to make recommendations on most complex home lending deals without reference to Senior Manager or Regional Manager or Credit – has ability to take multiple actions against obstacles and resistance
  • Demonstrated resilience and self management with Growth mindset supported by a flexible approach with willingness to adapt
