Mō te tūranga - About the role
As a Private Associate - Lending in our Personal Banking Private Bank team within in our North Island region is critical to our success and will involve the following:
- Work with Private Bankers to maintain and grow the lending portfolio
- Enhancing client satisfaction by understanding and responding to queries, demonstrating strong product and process knowledge to ensure credibility with clients, and attending client meetings as appropriate
- Assisting Lending and Investment - Focused Private Bankers in the development and implementation of strategies that lead to increased share of wallet and client profitability
- Uphold a visible, credible and trustworthy profile while providing high level customer service
- Performing efficient and effective financial analysis, interpretation and credit risk assessment of clients
- Fostering of referrals and cross-selling of all appropriate products
- Overseeing the development and maintenance of contact with HNW clients and professional networks

The Associate Private Banker will be in a portfolio with responsibility for ensuring clients’ needs are met and are aligned to their client strategies, with a focus on working on client deposit, lending and wealth needs.
As an Associate Private Banker, you will:
• Explore existing client banking needs and structure solutions to achieve their goals.
• Collaborate with other internal ANZ Divisions and external stakeholders to build and convert a pipeline of future Life Enhancing Private clients and grow existing mutual client relationships.
• Work with the Senior Private Banker to achieve assigned client acquisition targets through proactive solicitation of new clients and seeking referrals from existing clients.
• Meet assigned deposit, lending and investment targets through the needs-based introduction and appropriate positioning of banking and investment solutions.
• Implement checks and measures to ensure the Life Enhancing set is at all times fully compliant with regulatory standards and internal policies and procedures

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
• Proven experience working on ANZ products, systems & processes
• Knowledge of transactional banking, lending and judgmental credit process.
• Demonstrated experience as a trusted relationship banker who is able to represent clients’ interests and evolving needs.
• Exceptional communication skills
• Excellent organisational and time management skills required
• Strong focus on compliance, attention to detail & flawless execution
