About the Role

 

Are you passionate about agriculture and financial services, and ready to lead at a senior level? We are seeking an experienced Senior Relationship Manager to take accountability for a high‑value, complex Agribusiness portfolio and play a critical role in driving sustainable growth across the region.

 

In this senior role, you will partner closely with the District Manager to shape portfolio strategy, manage risk, and deliver exceptional customer outcomes. You will act as a trusted advisor to our most significant Agri clients while providing leadership and guidance across the broader Agri, Commercial and Small Business ecosystem.

What will your day look like?

 

As a Senior Agribusiness Relationship Manager, you will: 

 

  • Take end‑to‑end accountability for a complex, high‑value Agribusiness portfolio, balancing growth, risk, and customer outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing strategic insights and holistic financial solutions aligned to their long‑term business goals.
  • Lead portfolio performance through disciplined credit management, proactive risk identification, and strong adherence to policy and governance frameworks.
  • Design, implement and monitor annual portfolio business and growth plans, including marketing and engagement strategies aligned to regional priorities.
  • Partner with the District Manager to contribute to regional strategy, pipeline management and prioritisation of opportunities.
  • Collaborate across Agri, Commercial and Small Business channels to deliver integrated solutions and a seamless customer experience.
  • Drive customer satisfaction outcomes through proactive relationship management and issue resolution.
  • Represent the Suncorp Bank brand at industry and community events, strengthening our profile and presence within the Agri sector.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and informal leadership to Relationship Managers and support staff, contributing to capability uplift and succession development.

 

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:  

 

  • Extensive experience in financial services, with deep expertise in Agribusiness or rural commercial banking.
  • Demonstrated capability managing complex lending structures, larger portfolios and higher‑risk customer segments.
  • Strong credit acumen, including risk assessment, cash‑flow analysis, portfolio optimisation and sound judgement under pressure.
  • Proven ability to operate as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders, influencing outcomes through expertise and credibility.
  • Well‑developed organisational and strategic planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders, customers and partners.
  • A high standard of integrity, professionalism and accountability, aligned to Suncorp Bank’s values and risk culture.
  • A passion for developing others and contributing to a positive, high‑performing team environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, finance or a related discipline.
