Mō te tūranga - About the role
The Senior Private Banker is responsible for leading and managing a team of Private Bankers, Investment Advisers and Associates while directly managing a small portfolio of clients, delivering tailored financial advice and solutions that align with each client’s unique needs and long-term objectives.
Role Location: Dunedin preferred, may consider other South Island locations where there is an existing ANZ Private presence.
Role Type: Permanent
Hours: Standard, Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs

The Senior Private Banker is critical to making this happen and key responsibilities of the role will include the following:
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team of Private Bankers, Investment Advisers and Associates to deliver strong client, commercial and people outcomes.
- Build, grow and retain a portfolio of high-value private banking clients by delivering tailored wealth and investment solutions.
- Drive business growth, client satisfaction and sales performance through effective client relationship management and strategic planning.
- Coach and develop team capability, providing leadership, feedback and support to foster a high-performance culture.
- Ensure compliance with financial advice, risk and regulatory requirements while maintaining the highest standards of client care.
- Partner with stakeholders across ANZ to deliver holistic client solutions, drive business growth and support strategic objectives.
- Lead your team through change, balancing client outcomes, operational excellence and employee engagement.

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams to deliver strong client, commercial and people outcomes.
- Exceptional relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships, grow networks and identify new business opportunities.
- Strong financial services and wealth management expertise, including experience delivering personalised financial or investment advice, sound knowledge of advice processes and policies, and CAD accreditation (where applicable).
- A proven track record of converting opportunities into sustainable business growth, combined with strong commercial acumen and a focus on delivering excellent client outcomes.
- Sound judgement, critical thinking and decision-making skills, with a strong risk mindset and the ability to navigate complexity, prioritise effectively and lead through change.
