The Strategy and Enablement Manager focuses on delivering continuous improvement initiatives within procurement, ensuring that service design and process improvements align with business needs. This role is responsible for implementing process standardization, improving operational efficiency and reducing risk.

What will your day look like?

 

This role is accountable for:

  • Manage the execution of strategy and enablement initiatives within the procurement function, applying Lean, Agile and Human-Centred Design principles.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and manage the redesign and optimisiation of procurement workflows.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that strategy and enablement initiatives are aligned with customer needs and organisational priorities.
  • Deliver and implement process re-engineering and automation projects, focusing on delivering measurable improvements in efficiency and service delivery.
  • Track and report on the progress of strategy and enablement initiatives, ensuring they meet desired outcomes and timelines. 

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Experience in analysing and redesigning business processes to enhance efficiency, eliminate bottlenecks and align them with organisational goals.
  • Knowledge of how to standardise procurement processes across the procurement function to create consistency, reduce complexity and improve operational efficiency.
  • Experience in managing strategy and enablement projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and according to scope.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies like Agile, Waterfall or PRINCE2.
  • Experience in managing and engaging stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to ensure buy-in and alignment on project goals.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and gain support for new initiatives and changes, particularly when introducing process changes or new ways of working.
  • Proficiency in conducting root cause analysis to identify the underlying issues affecting procurement processes and suggesting appropriate corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with digital procurement tools (e.g., ERP systems, e-sourcing platforms, contract management software) and an understanding of how technology can drive improvements in procurement processes.
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes, including sourcing, supplier management, contracting and supplier performance evaluation.
  • Experience in using formal change management frameworks (e.g., Prosci ADKAR, Kotter’s 8-Step Change Model) to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, technologies, or organizational changes.
  • Experience utilising market intelligence and benchmarking tools to ensure that procurement practices are competitive and efficient.
